"Teen Wolf" 10 Years Later: Why It's Still Worth Watching!

Written by Melanie Haid. Published: March 11 2021

Okay, yes, MTV’s "Teen Wolf" came out in 2011, so why would you be binging it 10 years later? I think an encyclopedia-length answer would be appropriate, but I suppose we can also sum it up for you. So they may not be using the latest iPhones, but the problems these supernatural teens face are otherwise totally normal and surprisingly relatable – especially if you happen to be a teen lacrosse stick-wielding werewolf. You can watch all 6 seasons on Amazon Prime, YouTube, and MTV (or re-watch it for the third time…whatever works for you).

Our favorite supernatural bunch were interviewed by Young Hollywood in 2011 when the show first came out, and they’re a lot closer than we might think. Over their time filming and even now, almost 10 years later, with their "Teen Wolf" obligations having pretty much come to a close, Dylan O’Brien (Stiles) and Tyler Posey (Scott McCall) still remain close. It shows how much the entire cast has positive chemistry together, making their relationships and friendships even more realistic because they all get along.

Another reason "Teen Wolf" is still one of our favorite binges of 2021? Love triangle after love triangle after… love coming full-circle? It’s got enough drama to keep us pining for more every single episode, mainly because you never really know who will end up with who and how long it’ll last (or if they’ll even both survive – it’s a dangerous world out there in Beacon Hills).

Plus, you’ve got 6 seasons of "Teen Wolf", which will give you plenty of binge-worthy content. If you like mystery, suspense, and have a taste for the supernatural, "Teen Wolf" is always throwing new curveballs at you – you never know what will happen next.

And, if you love great action scenes, "Teen Wolf" has plenty. There is a surprising amount of danger in the small town of Beacon Hills, but you can count on your (sometimes) friendly neighborhood werewolves, banshees, and bow-and-arrow-wielding 16-year-olds to keep things interesting.

"Teen Wolf", even 10 years after it first aired, is refreshing TV – it’s not too complicated of a supernatural world to follow, but it still has you on the edge of your seat. It’ll have you frustrated with the characters, rooting for them, and hoping their love lasts... all until the next episode, of course, which could do a complete 180. It’s refreshingly dark, moody, and equally mysterious, with just enough love story to keep you hopeful that someone, someday, will find peace.

If you’ve watched the show but missed the virtual reunion last summer, you can still watch it on MTV's YouTube channel, and you can find some clips on the "Teen Wolf" Instagram. But, if you’re curious as to where their characters might be now, the cast has some thoughts – consider it closure.
