The Wanted join fight to save bar

The Wanted have joined a campaign to save their local London pub from closure.

The pop stars are fuming over plans to demolish The Queensbury Pub in Willesden Green, north west London to make way for a new apartment block and they are urging fans to sign a petition to save the building from the wrecking ball.

Hundreds of people have added their signatures, and the singers hope their support will boost efforts to save the venue.

A post on the band's official Twitter.com page, reads, "One of our... awesome locals The Queensbury needs saving from the bulldozer! Please help us."

A spokesman for the pub says, "We greatly appreciate the support from the community which shows great passion, a quality which we hope is emulated in the Queensbury."
