Prince's ex-wife wants divorce documents to stay sealed
Prince's ex-wife Manuela Testolini has asked lawmakers in Minnesota to keep the former couple's split documents from 2006 sealed.
Testolini appeared in a Minnesota courtroom on Thursday (04Aug16) as her attorneys argued the couple's divorce details should remain under wraps as family members and wannabe heirs battle over the late music icon's fortune.
The hearing came about after Star Tribune editors asked a state
judge to release the documents.
The newspapers' legal team insists the court files are newsworthy,
following Prince's death in April (16) and the case surrounding his
estate. Her lawyers objected, claiming the records are tied to a
private settlement.
Hennepin County Family Court Judge Thomas Fraser has taken the
matter under advisement.
Testolini, who was the Purple Rain hitmaker's second wife, didn't
speak in court.
