Lena Dunham backs Hillary Clinton for president
Lena Dunham has thrown her support behind Hillary Clinton as she attempts to become the first female president of the United States.
The former U.S. Secretary of State, who was First Lady while her husband Bill Clinton was in office, is now making a bid for the White House herself next year (16), and Dunham is among the celebrity supporters who have given Clinton their backing.
The Girls creator/star posted a picture on Instagram.com showing
Clinton looking at her cell phone and added in a caption, "This is
Hillary reading a text from me that says 'With you every step of
the way, gurl (sic)' #mypresident."
She added a snap of herself posing with current President Barack
Obama and wrote, "I would very very proud to call Hillary our
president, just as I have loved having this brilliant male feminist
in office..."
Other stars to have come out for Clinton include Scarlett
Johansson, who tells Access Hollywood, "Yes (I'm excited). It's
very exciting to see Hillary (run). I think this is a good time for
her. I think it's going to make this primary a very, very
interesting one... Now is the right time... She's ready for it...
She's a very good politician."
Veteran singer/songwriter Carole King wrote "I'm in" in a post on
Twitter.com, while America Ferrera, Ariana Grande and Olivia Wilde
have also voiced their support.
