French Montana and Wiz Khalifa to star in new Netflix film
Rappers French Montana and Wiz Khalifa have been cast to star in a new film.
The hip hop hitmakers will team up with actor Blair Underwood and Teyana Taylor in The After Party. Rapper Kyle Harvey, Jordan Rock, Harrison Holzer, and Shelley Hennig will also appear in the film, which will be directed by Ian Edelman from his own screenplay.
The film centers on two best friends trying to land a record deal before one leaves for college and the other signs up for a military life.
Hip hop mogul Russell Simmons is listed among the producers of the project, alongside late Worldstar Hip Hop founder Lee 'Q' O'Denat. The film is currently shooting in New York and will premiere on streaming service Netflix.
Wiz Khalifa has appeared in films Mac & Devin Go to High School and Gang of Roses 2: Next Generation, while French Montana has been featured on hit TV series Empire.
The new film will serve as a reunion for Khalifa and Taylor, who starred in Gang of Roses 2: Next Generation together. She has also appeared in Madea's Big Happy Family and Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming.
