Angelina Jolie: 'I am not retiring'
Angelina Jolie has denied she has plans to retire from Hollywood, insisting she still wants to make movies.
The Tomb Raider star has stepped behind the camera in recent years to direct films, and her third movie, Unbroken, is due for release later this year (14).
Jolie has now sparked fevered rumours she is planning to retire
from acting, after telling the BBC her upcoming role as Cleopatra
is "one of those that you think maybe that's the one you put
everything into and that's where you end it, that's where you
finish".
However, the actress is adamant she is not turning her back on
Hollywood and will continue making movies.
She tells British newspaper The Independent, "Brad (Pitt) has known
for a while that I love my humanitarian work and I love directing
and writing so he has seen this coming I think. But I am not
retiring. I will do one or two movies if they come, the right ones,
but I think that I have been in front of the camera for so long in
my life and it's nice to step back."
