French Montana and Khloe Kardashian face backlash over gun snap

Rapper French Montana and his rumoured girlfriend Khloe Kardashian have sparked a storm of controversy by showing off a picture of themselves posing with a machine gun.

On Monday (02Jun14), Kardashian uploaded a snap to Instagram.com showing her sipping Champagne straight from the bottle alongside Montana, who is holding what appears to be a semi-automatic firearm.

A caption accompanying the image reads, "About to go gucci maaannnnnn. #MovieSet #JustDifferent @frenchmontana."

Although the gun is believed to be a replica, Kardashian's fans took to Twitter.com to accuse her of being a bad role model to her young fans.

After the backlash, the reality TV star uploaded a Bruce Lee quote on the photo-sharing website: "For it is easy to criticize and break down the spirit of others, but to know yourself takes a lifetime."
