Welcome into studio, everybody. Today, we're hanging out with Janelle Perrish.
Hi. Welcome back. Always love seeing you guys.
Oh, we love having you. You always make our day.
Aw.
Last time you were in, we had to ask you first if you still had 24 tattoos. So, I'm starting this interview off with the same question.
I still have 24 tattoos, but it's soon to be more.
Really? Do you know?
As my publicist loses her mind in the back. Just kidding. Um, well, actually, so my fiance and I are getting married. Yes. Very soon. Um and so, after we get married, we plan on getting our wedding dates tattooed. Yeah. And then I'll have 25, which I think is a great number, and then I'll just leave it there.
That's a perfect number. It's a round number. 25.
Thank you. I do too. Yeah. I love that.
Well, you know we love to play games in here.
I love it. We're always playing fun games. Let's play games.
And we often play "Would you rather?" And one of the scariest scenarios that we've put into the game before is your crush finding out that you like them. Okay. And your new film is literally that scenario coming to life.
Oh, yeah. Absolutely. To All the Boys I've Loved. I know. It's super, super cute.
What's your advice to somebody who has a crush but maybe hasn't told them yet? Should they tell them?
You know, I say, "Go for it." Although, I don't know, because high school Janelle was really shy and would have like written love letters like Lara Jean and not been able to actually vocalize them. Right. But now that I've been through high school and I'm older and I found my guy, I'm like, "Go for it. Be bold, be brave." I mean, easy for me to say, right?
Yeah. Sometimes you just have to go for it. Yeah. Um, well, I love following you on Instagram.
Thank you.
And I was watching your Instagram stories last night, and you and your fiance looked like you were having so much fun cleaning the dishes. And I'm like, "How are they having such a good time?"
I think what's important in a good relationship, and I was just saying this, is that you have to always flirt.
You can just see like the love radiating. I was like, "How are they having so much fun?" Make take notes. That's great. Well, going back to the film that we're here to talk about today, um, To All the Boys I've Loved. When you first got that script, what resonated with you the most when you were reading through it?
Um, the sisterly bond between the three girls. I have a sister. She's my best friend in the entire world. Um, and I just loved that, you know, the the bond of family, no matter what happens, you know? Um, It's such a close family that resonated with me. Um, I loved the the message behind the film that, you know, to be become comfortable and confident in your own skin and that's what makes you beautiful. And, um, I just think it's such a great message for everyone, but especially young girls to see right now.
I love that. Well, thanks for sharing that message with us today. Um, we do have a little game. We love to play with you.
Yes. Let's play games.
So, this is "Never Have I Ever" with Janelle Perrish.
Yes. I'm scared.
Are you ready? Don't be scared. Okay. Okay. So, our first question is, "Have you ever written somebody a love letter?"
Yes. I still do. I still Every card that I give my fiance is a love letter. Are you a card giver? I love cards. I love letters. Um, notes, definitely, but I love cards. To me, that's like our version of a love letter now. And I love to just write like a novel in there. It's hard to read because my handwriting sucks, but the, you know, message is in there.
Yeah. That's special. Have you ever flirted or cried your way out of a ticket?
Yes.
Wait, what happened?
I definitely burst into tears. And it was because I was actually late to work. And I was like, "I'm so sorry. I just like, I was at a red light and I just thought like I'd text real quick and say I was running late to work." And, and he was a nice young man, and he let me out of it. But don't do that. Like don't ever do that.
Have you ever had a paranormal experience?
Maybe. I'm not 100% certain. I was actually working on a film in Hawaii at this, um, hotel that is supposedly known for being haunted. I myself know that I was very sick in my room for the last three nights that I was there. And when I left the hotel, I was fine. And the lady that was doing my makeup was a psychic. In Hawaii. Hawaii is a very spiritual place, by the way. And she told me that I was being What's the word I'm looking for? That that there was like a paranormal force in my room and my body was rejecting it, which is terrifying.
Well, maybe you should write a movie on that, and that will be what we see you for next time you're back in.
Maybe so. I'm into it. I like ghost stories. I just don't want to experience one in real life.
Well, thank you so much for hanging out with us.
Thank you.
Good luck and congratulations on the wedding. Have so much fun. And we'll see you next time.
Yay!
