What is going on Young Hollywood? What up? I'm here with Fitz from Fitz and the Tantrums. Hey, man. What's going on, dude? Good to see you again. We were We were, as soon as we saw each other today, we started to talk about each other's shoes. Your shoe game is very strong. Let's see your shoe game.
Well, I'm rocking some Paul Smith.
That's cool. Now, it's just Fitz here, but there's a huge band that works with you guys on tour.
Yeah, there's six of us. There's my co-singer, Noel Scags, the beauty right there. And uh four other dudes, so there's six of us in the band, so.
So, he's got a hit song out. How long has HandClap been out for?
Uh, the single, "HandClap" came out in March and did really well at Alternative and now it's been moving over to Pop radio and we're just climbing the charts there, and so, yeah, I'm excited. Somebody save your soul 'cause you've been sinning in the city, know too many troubles, all these lovers got you losing control. You like a drug to me, your luxury my sugar and gold. I want the good life every good night, you're a hot one, you know.
That was cool. So I We have some Instagram photos I wanted to bring up on the back wall here.
All right, let's do it.
So, let's talk about your IG game. Oh. Okay, so I This photo right here.
I If you can see, I'm actually suspended in mid-air there. Um, and that's in Denver at Riot Fest.
When I see you always, you're always doing this move, though. You always have like this like jump thing that you're doing.
I will say this about That is my my awkward robot dance white guy move, but um, we dance our asses off. Noel and I, our shows are all about like super high energy. The more we can get them dancing, singing, and clapping along with us, the more energy it gives us. It's just sort of our trademark that we've become known for basically.
Let's see what else we got here. Pre-show ritual before we go on stage, just all trying to pump each other up. Exactly. So what do you guys do before the show? What is the pre-show? What's what's the ritual?
I mean, mine's not that exciting because I, you know, as a singer, Noel and I, we have to like do a lot of uh care and maintenance on our voice because, you know, we'll sing night after night after night. So, I have a whole warm-up vocal routine. And it's just trying to like have a moment of silence and center yourself because, you know, we we work in so hard all day. We're visiting all the the radio stations in every city, so that's like try and carve out that little moment to just center yourself before we go out on stage. And the boys, they're drinking beer. I mean, that's what they're doing. That's that moment right there.
Okay, let's see what else we got. Okay, this is another moment. Uh, yeah, we just played Austin, Texas. Is this before or after?
Uh, no, this is after and it was 112 degrees outside when we played on stage. So this is me trying to hydrate and cool off Jeremy in our band post show.
Your hair, you have great hair. How long have you done the hair thing for? The the blond streak. Is that Is that real or is that?
Oh, this is this is authentic.
That's authentic? It is. Since you've been born?
Uh, no, when I turned like 19 or 20, all of a sudden, this shock of uh white hair came in the the front of my head and then I was like, well, you know, some people they get a weird place like on the back of the head, but mine, you know, it was kind of the gods were kind to me and they said we're going to give you this style, this this thing, this Pepé Le Pew. So I just rolled with it.
Rolling. I love that. Here we go. I want to play a game with you.
Yeah.
We We always got to play games when we do interviews with people, so I want to try something out here. So it's called "Heads Up HandClap." You've played Heads Up before?
No, but I think I'm about to.
You're about to learn this. So, Heads Up is a game where we I'll hold something up and then you will try to describe the celebrity.
Oh, okay.
As best as you can. And if I get it right, we HandClap.
Let's do it. Heads Up HandClap.
Okay, you ready for this?
