Miles Teller hanging out with me on the couch. Welcome to our to our little humble abode.

Miles Teller Weighs In

Thank you.

Young Hollywood

Um, I got to say not many people can pull off the mustache speedo look uh in Bleed For This. This movie. We are going to start the weigh-in.

Miles Teller Weighs In

Ah, Jan's in the phone. Hello. Just hold the wall. Tell them I'm coming. He's on the bicycle. No dummy is, wait, where are you at? Where you at, Vinnie? I'm coming. He's coming. Everybody. Hey, everybody. Got a little surprise for you. Here he is, the champ. From the starts of the world. 140 lbs even.

Young Hollywood

Yeah. The physical transformation, not that you were like out of shape or whatever before, but I mean like

Miles Teller Weighs In

I was out of shape before. That's a fair statement. Absolutely. I was in funny friend shape is what I was.

Young Hollywood

Funny? Okay, so like the funny, you're the funny friend in a

Miles Teller Weighs In

All right. I was I've been the funny Yeah, I've been like the funny friend in a lot of films.

Young Hollywood

But now you have like I mean it sounds crazy. I I may have paused and counted like an eight pack. What was wrong? Uh, it all looks good. Yeah. It does.

Miles Teller Weighs In

I got a trainer and nutritionist and um, you know, it's just all that stuff like you gotta do to lose that, you know, I lost 20 lbs and you know, everything that's green like it uh you're eating and it's a really intense kind of workout program and then I was working out with a I had a boxing coach um who trained Sugar Ray Leonard for 18 years.

Young Hollywood

So, how did you had you had you done boxing at all before or was you

Miles Teller Weighs In

I had done some some kickboxing. I I did I did like a year and a half of kickboxing. We used to go to this Muay Thai gym. Okay. All right. Actually, they say uh throwing a pitch, throwing a baseball is very similar to you know, kind of throwing a punch. It's a lot of hip rotation. And I always felt like I was like a pretty good dancer.

Young Hollywood

Uh I've seen I've seen video of this. You are a really good dancer. That's your words not mine. Um You No, you are a really good dancer. Do you have like a go-to dance move? Like you you're you're like an improvisor?

Miles Teller Weighs In

Not I just I'm a good like No, I like enjoy dancing. And so that's the biggest thing. That's awesome. When people are trying to like impress you with their dancing, Yeah. No. it's just weird. But if somebody just honestly really enjoys dancing, it's fun. So I think I'm a fun dancer. Yeah, I dance from the heart.

Miles Teller Weighs In

Tomorrow night, you're gone. I'm gonna rain on you like a thunderstorm. We got a beat. We got a beat. I feel like I should be on a box of Wheaties thrown in a Gatorade commercial. Do it. The Tasmanian Devil is in Kent County Memorial Hospital tonight with a fractured neck.

Young Hollywood

This story is pretty amazing. Yeah. What what drew you personally to telling Vinnie Pazienza's story?

Miles Teller Weighs In

Well, honestly, I I I read the script and it's like pre-Whiplash, pre a lot of things. And so I just felt like, you know, this is gonna go to an older actor or maybe a guy who has been in a certain shape in a movie before. But for me, I mean, yeah, I the director really kind of took a leap of faith on me, I felt and I was, you know, like the oh shit factor settles in and you're just you're really nervous 'cause you're telling a director I can do this but, you know, eight months you gotta be on camera and you better not a box and you better be in shape and you better be able to film boxing scenes for 12 hours a day. It was just like And you better have the accent down 'cause Vinnie was from Providence, Rhode Island.

Miles Teller Weighs In

I'm not done here, Vinnie. We ain't pretty sick of people talking about me like I'm dead. Kev, I'm gonna fight again. No, you ain't, Vinnie. You still know how to give up. No, I know exactly how to give up. You know what scares me, Kev, is that it's easy.

Young Hollywood

Come on, this is insane. Bleed for this. It is something. I mean like you bring so much to this character. The mustache, the the fanny pack, the accent, the whole bit.

Miles Teller Weighs In

Fanny pack, fanny pack's getting a lot of love. I like that. I have a fanny pack in my own life. My girlfriend hates it. She thinks it's

Young Hollywood

What? No.

Miles Teller Weighs In

'Cause I but I'm like I don't want to have to go in my pockets. Exactly. I just want to zip my this little thing right here.

Young Hollywood

Thank you. I'm with you. Fanny, fanny packs are super functional.

Miles Teller Weighs In

Very functional. Yeah. Just like all Vinnie's outfits, very functional. Vinnie wore uh honestly, Vinnie's wardrobe in real life was like uh even more elaborate than than what we put on screen, just 'cause we had to turn it down. I mean, he wore like rhinestone cowboy outfits uh and he's just a character, larger than life dude.

Miles Teller Weighs In

I just dig deep and let it fly, baby. And you can use that analogy for anything in life.

Young Hollywood

Yeah, you really can. Dig deep. Let it fly. Dig deep. Dig deep. I'm learning so much. This is like life lessons. I really. It's crazy.

Miles Teller Weighs In

It's nice. Yeah, I like it.

Young Hollywood

Well, we're on a on a on a couch.

Miles Teller Weighs In

I know. It's relaxed. I'm comfortable. I'm sitting on Taylor Loughran's face.

Young Hollywood

Yeah. This is like a dream come true for you, I'd imagine.

Miles Teller Weighs In

It always been a dream of mine.

Miles Teller Weighs In

This is bad, Angelo. You gotta do something. I can't be part of you getting hurt no more. I'm not done. All right, I got more in me. Go out there and show me how you do things. Show me how you live. Show me how you fight. Show me who you are.

Young Hollywood

Okay, well, you've had to do some really deep dive I'm so impressed by all the skills that you get to show off, like the drumming in Whiplash, the boxing here, the you became an arms dealer for War Dogs. It's crazy. Uh, is there anything any role that you would want to pick up a special skill for?

Miles Teller Weighs In

Uh, a chef. I'd love to be able to learn how to cook.

Young Hollywood

Okay. Better. Where are you at at the cooking right now?

Miles Teller Weighs In

I can cook anything kind of like I can do fish and I can barbecue and I can do chicken, but nothing tastes like amazing. But I don't, you know, I don't know. I just eat to like fill up. I don't I'm not like an indulging kind of a person.

Young Hollywood

Okay. What was the uh what was the first thing that you ate after finishing this movie?

Miles Teller Weighs In

Uh, we had pizza delivered on set because we went overtime. Uh it was like 16 hours. And I finished the last scene in the movie which was a fight in the movie and I just somebody handed me a pizza and I just uh I embraced it so much and You just I honestly I think I tried to eat it with my boxing gloves on. I was just like, you know, give me the pizza. And I actually woke up the next morning with a pizza box next to me.

Young Hollywood

How does that happen?

Miles Teller Weighs In

Don't act like you've never been there before.

Young Hollywood

Oh, how dare you? You went there. What do you mean? I just feel like it's pizza. Oh, it was probably my fault. Miles, you are a national treasure. Oh, my jeez. Thanks for coming by.

Miles Teller Weighs In
