Young Hollywood

Young Hollywood, what is going on? Andy Grammar here. How are you buddy?

Andy Grammer Performs Live

Pretty good, man.

Young Hollywood

And he just performed for us. Good time. We set off the fire alarm.

Andy Grammer Performs Live

Set off the fire alarm. We did. Yeah.

Young Hollywood

Your songs are hot. So hot. Damn, really hot. Yeah.

Andy Grammer Performs Live

Heartfall we fell together. And we spend. I mean it's probably you're the worst background singer. Please. This regard all alarms that you are hearing and all strobes that you will be seeing.

Young Hollywood

You uh you have a lot going on right now. Thanks for. I like to say that you are juggling life.

Andy Grammer Performs Live

Sure.

Young Hollywood

Whoa, juggling life. And I also heard you can juggle. I I Can we get this guy some candy so he can juggle? Hold on.

Andy Grammer Performs Live

I did juggle a little bit. We didn't want any candy.

Young Hollywood

Didn't want any candy. Get him some candy. He can juggle.

Andy Grammer Performs Live

I didn't want to be a clown when I was growing up so I like had to figure it out. Oh, almost. It's hard to sit and juggle I feel like.

Young Hollywood

It is. It is. We can cut this. We can cut all the good stuff together, right? Yeah. Yell reverse it. Okay, that's it. Now we're good. You family, I mean like. Yeah. And you recorded an album.

Andy Grammer Performs Live

Yeah, I got an album.

Young Hollywood

How do you juggle all of those things?

Andy Grammer Performs Live

Oh man, it's such a good time in life. Everything feels so rich. Got a little girl, she's like four and a half months old and she's so cute. Oh god, she's cute. There's a couple songs on the new album that are like love songs, but to a little girl. Aw. And I think some of them you can tell, sometimes you can't tell, but it's really, really, man it's so sweet. I've been waiting for this moment. It's going to be alive right about now. Woo hoo, good good good good to be alive right about now. Woo hoo, good good good good to be alive right about now. Yo, hallelujah. Let that bass line move you. Yeah. Uh like so when you write 115 songs. There's like a lot of people that come and are part of it and you know, I love I'm like a big fan of co-writing, especially when you're solid in who you are and what you want to say, then the co-writing becomes really fun.

Young Hollywood

Right. How did you choose from 115 songs you wrote?

Andy Grammer Performs Live

It's all it's the ones that like stay with you. That you really rather than like, oh man, I like these songs.

Young Hollywood

Does it matter though? Does it like really? You have 115 songs.

Andy Grammer Performs Live

It totally matters. It does.

Young Hollywood

Okay. Okay. Okay.

Andy Grammer Performs Live

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So it's the difference between putting out an album like, oh man, check out these songs. Or like I would be I would be so upset if every one of these songs that's on this album didn't get heard.

Young Hollywood

I was I wasn't saying I was saying it was thematic. I was saying that all 115 are dope.

Andy Grammer Performs Live

They're not. Okay. Even close. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's part of it. I mean, you're an artist, right? You'd be our. Art will leave you at the altar, bro. Like, so you got to like, you got to just like be creative and write as much as you can and then over time you see which ones are the cream that rise to the top. Sometimes you got to get scars to get what you deserve. I keep moving on and now I'm moving up.

Young Hollywood

What your are like the good parts of um of being a father? Of being a a you know. The good parts. What are the good parts? Of being a father.

Andy Grammer Performs Live

So the whole the title of the good parts is all about like, it's usually the stuff that we don't share that it when you actually do share it, that's the most interesting part of your story. Right? So like if you were to tell me your story right now, we know each other like loosely. Okay. But if you and me went and got a coffee for like two hours and really went in and I like got to know you.

Young Hollywood

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Andy Grammer Performs Live

And you shared some vulnerable. And be like, this is like the this is these are like the good parts of my story. So the good parts of being a father so far are is like the emotional access that is available all the time. I feel like before I had a little girl, there'd be like 10 times a year where I'd feel, oh my god, I'm going to cry at this movie or I just had like an amazing interaction like took me deep somewhere. Now it's like 10 times a day. Just like put her in a car seat and she goes like, what's up? You're like, oh. I feel like the universe in me right now. This is crazy. You make me cry. It's so gooey. That is so sweet. Anyways.

Young Hollywood

Dude, Andy, it's awesome. Thank you so much for hanging out with us.

Andy Grammer Performs Live

Thank you for having me.

Young Hollywood
