Aubrey Joseph

Welcome back to South by Southwest. Our one year anniversary.

Emma Lahana

And Emma's brand new. Congratulations, I am brand new. I'm very excited.

Aubrey Joseph

Last year we were down on the bridge over there, talking and chopping it up. Cloak and Dagger everything, so welcome.

Emma Lahana

Thank you.

Olivia Holt

Thank you very much.

Young Hollywood

Uh so you guys been yeah, you guys all been to Texas before obviously, right?

Olivia Holt

Well no, yeah.

Young Hollywood

Did you guys get to enjoy the food last time? They have really good barbecue, pecan pie, queso.

Olivia Holt

We did enjoy a lot of food. And I feel like this time, well, we actually went to a really great place. My favorite so good. It's called Rocking Vegan Tacos.

Young Hollywood

Tell me, tell me about it.

Olivia Holt

Yeah, it's really good. And there's a there's a taco called the Bernie Sanders, and I have dreams about it.

Young Hollywood

Bernie Sanders, I like that.

Olivia Holt

Yes.

Emma Lahana

It's a liberal's dream.

Young Hollywood

Since we are here in South by, is there anything else that you guys want to do while you guys are here?

Olivia Holt

I definitely want to check out some music. Definitely. Um, because that's huge. I feel like even like when it's not South by, it's like the music is still alive.

Aubrey Joseph

Yeah, totally. It's a big thing of music.

Young Hollywood

You need to perform out here. I know. What's going on?

Aubrey Joseph

So, a guy's my life. What's going on?

Young Hollywood

We want to We want to be behind the scenes. We want to film you, go on stage and everything.

Olivia Holt

Okay, I'd like to be a backup dancer, please. Thank you.

Aubrey Joseph

Absolutely. Thank you.

Emma Lahana

Aubrey too.

Olivia Holt

So let's make it happen.

Aubrey Joseph

You're supporting dancer, me and Emma in the back.

Olivia Holt

Guys, my biggest supporters are here.

Young Hollywood

So the show films in New Orleans. Tell me about New Orleans, because I've never been. What like is it crazy out there?

Olivia Holt

It's sort of you can't really like It's hard to describe.

Aubrey Joseph

Yeah, it's hard to describe. It's something you have to experience. But we like to say that you know, New Orleans really isn't like the location of our show. It actually feels like another character, because it plays such a big part in our show, and It's I mean the way that it's shot is super stylistic and it has so much character already that um it just feels like yeah, it feels like another like being.

Emma Lahana

Yeah, and there's such a rich culture there and the fact that we can bring the voodoo aspect into our show is really exciting, and everywhere you point a camera looks spectacular.

Aubrey Joseph

I know every every single city has their own energy to it and I feel like New Orleans is definitely one of those cities that as soon as you get off the plane, you just feel that type of energy. It's it's I don't know how to explain it, but when you visit, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.

Young Hollywood

You guys go out at night there?

Aubrey Joseph

Yes, the Swamp. Highly recommend. The Swamp is lit.

Young Hollywood

Okay. I don't say that one. What what goes down at the in the Swamp?

Olivia Holt

Lots of music, lots of dancing. Yeah, they they played the floor once for me and Olivia, and we danced to Spice Girls and Justin Bieber, so it's the most basic you will ever.

Emma Lahana

It's very extra.

Young Hollywood

Is that also when you guys go out there like cuz you you guys are superheroes, right? Like that's a big thing, especially in the Marvel universe, like have you you guys seen the fan reaction, like the response out there?

Aubrey Joseph

The thing with New Orleans, which is funny, like people in New Orleans don't really care about like celebrities or anything like that. So It's funny like the times that I've gotten stopped out there, like at a Taco Bell drive-through, like this lady was just like, "Oh, so you're the boy from that show, right? That's my favorite show." Mm-hmm. It's like, "Really?"

Olivia Holt

It's not at all. It's really cool though, because like I think that they they feel so grateful to like have that happening in their city too. They're they're so excited.

Aubrey Joseph

Yeah, totally. It's so humble.

Olivia Holt

Yeah. Because I think I would do that. Hey. That's awesome.

Aubrey Joseph

Yeah, it's pretty. I mean, I'm a vigilante, so I don't really wake up like that. Who should I kill today? Dangerous.

Young Hollywood

Uh, what's the biggest difference from season one to season two?

Aubrey Joseph

Season two's a lot bigger, I think. The action is There's a lot more action. The there's a lot of fight scenes, uh and we were lucky to do pretty much all of our own stunts unless it was too dangerous. So.

Young Hollywood

Any accidents, any bruises, any cuts?

Olivia Holt

I will say I got one too many bruises. Yeah, I have a lot of bruises because the adrenaline sometimes takes over and you're like, "No, no, I don't need it. I don't need an elbow pad, I'm good." And then the next day.

Aubrey Joseph

And then the next day you're sore, hurting, you can't get out of bed. And then you realize you're an idiot.

Olivia Holt

But it's worth it, cuz it ends up looking so amazing.

Young Hollywood

Cuz it's real, right? Cuz you're actually taking that hit.

Olivia Holt

Totally. Yeah.

Young Hollywood

Last thing, tell the fans why they should continue watching Cloak and Dagger.

Aubrey Joseph

Season two is bigger and better, baby. I mean, we're intensified, way more enhanced, and it's just gonna be really spectacular for everybody to go on this journey with the three of our characters.

Olivia Holt

And it's still a really grounded show. We're still bringing real life issues into the show, which I think is so important. So, yeah, season two is just going to going up and beyond.

Emma Lahana

Yeah, we finally see these characters coming into their own and, you know, um Brigid is gonna find herself by the end of this season and Tandy and Tyrone, the universe keeps, you know, pulling them together and pushing them apart. So, um it's just an extraordinary experience that I I can't wait for everybody to see. It's just amazing.

Aubrey Joseph

Amazing. That's I to say the least, honestly.

Young Hollywood

There it is. Well, mic drop that. Thank you guys so much. Appreciate it. Don't break it. Don't break it. Thank you guys for coming by.

Olivia Holt

Thank you.

Aubrey Joseph

Thank you.
