Skylar Astin

Yeah.

Skylar Astin

Yeah.

Young Hollywood

Are you a fan of John McEnroe?

Skylar Astin

I don't he I don't know who he is.

Skylar Astin

How does everybody know who he is?

Skylar Astin

Is he like a baseball player?

Skylar Astin

Who's John McEnroe?

Young Hollywood

Yeah.

Young Hollywood

Stop.

Skylar Astin

Hockey?

Young Hollywood

You're kidding.

Skylar Astin

Baseball, right?

Young Hollywood

Stop.

Skylar Astin

I recognize his name.

Young Hollywood

Football.

Skylar Astin

Not football.

Skylar Astin

Um.

Young Hollywood

Hockey?

Skylar Astin

Not hockey.

Skylar Astin

I don't know.

Young Hollywood

Oh my God.

Young Hollywood

What?

Young Hollywood

Keep going through the sports.

Skylar Astin

I'm sorry, John.

Skylar Astin

I'm sorry.

Skylar Astin

Um, tennis?

Young Hollywood

Tennis.

Skylar Astin

Tennis.

Skylar Astin

I made it.

Skylar Astin

Okay.

Young Hollywood

She's a great actress, though.

Young Hollywood

Great.

Young Hollywood

Like hilarious.

Skylar Astin

Thank you.

Young Hollywood

My God, you got that going for you.

Young Hollywood

Screw the sports.

Skylar Astin

Yeah, no, I'm not a big sports fan.

Skylar Astin

I have so many obsessions and and like interests that like if I had sports on top of that, my head would literally explode.

Young Hollywood

Okay.

Young Hollywood

So, here we are on set.

Young Hollywood

Amazing.

Young Hollywood

It's like a Pitch Perfect reunion.

Skylar Astin

Yeah, it is.

Young Hollywood

How did that happen?

Skylar Astin

Had a what?

Skylar Astin

What?

Skylar Astin

Skylar in this together?

Skylar Astin

It's like coincidental.

Skylar Astin

It's really weird.

Young Hollywood

Did everybody break out into song?

Skylar Astin

I think I would say that's what happens here.

Skylar Astin

It was a bit of a of a musical episode.

Skylar Astin

That's all I'll say.

Skylar Astin

That's all I'll say.

Skylar Astin

But yeah, no, we definitely sing a lot when we're around each other.

Young Hollywood

So we have Skylar onset.

Young Hollywood

Every day.

Young Hollywood

You guys just break out into song?

Young Hollywood

Everywhere you go.

Skylar Astin

No.

Skylar Astin

No.

Skylar Astin

I mean sometimes, but we we like dancing more than singing.

Young Hollywood

Really?

Skylar Astin

We just break out into some dances.

Skylar Astin

We just start on your face.

Young Hollywood

Let's see what you got.

Skylar Astin

Oh, I don't want to say.

Skylar Astin

I just it's start with a stretch and then the stretch turned into a pump and then the pump turned into a bounce and then you shut it down.

Young Hollywood

Yeah.

Young Hollywood

So, workplace comedy.

Young Hollywood

Back before you were an actress.

Skylar Astin

Yes.

Young Hollywood

Give me like your worst experience work-wise.

Skylar Astin

I got a bunch of those.

Skylar Astin

But I'm going to I'm going to narrow it down back to when I was maybe 16 or 17.

Skylar Astin

I worked at I worked at this pet store.

Skylar Astin

Um, that I always wanted to work at growing up.

Skylar Astin

The worst part about this job.

Skylar Astin

Now it sounds like a dream right now.

Skylar Astin

They threw me in They threw me in the rodent room for like five months.

Skylar Astin

There's no windows.

Skylar Astin

There's no ventilation.

Skylar Astin

There's no There's nothing.

Skylar Astin

There's just like about 20 cages of giant rats, baby rats, sick hamsters, all the size mice you can get.

Skylar Astin

But the worst about it.

Skylar Astin

There's more.

Skylar Astin

Was the smell in there.

Skylar Astin

The worst smell in the world.

Young Hollywood

Uh, not as bad as snake poop.

Young Hollywood

That's the worst.

Skylar Astin

What does snake poop look like?

Young Hollywood

Um, Is it like little pellets?

Skylar Astin

It's No, no, no, no.

Skylar Astin

It's like solid, long waste.

Skylar Astin

I mean, it depends on how big the snake is, but if you think about it, they digest the entire animal.

Skylar Astin

So it looks like the snake.

Skylar Astin

Sometimes there's fur on the poop.

Young Hollywood

Wow.

Young Hollywood

Take me back to your early jobs before you were an actor.

Young Hollywood

Give me your worst job experience ever.

Skylar Astin

I worked at a printing press company, uh, where we did we put the uh, adhesives on the back of uh, money bands.

Skylar Astin

And it was just endless and mindless.

Skylar Astin

I'm sure today that's all just computerized and done by robot, but it was uh, it was a uh, uh, an assembly line job and it was uh mind-numbing.

Young Hollywood

Worried, you're late.

Young Hollywood

Your seat is empty.

Skylar Astin

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Skylar Astin

No, I stand.

Skylar Astin

I have to stand for my interviews.

Young Hollywood

You have to stand?

Skylar Astin

Yeah.

Skylar Astin

It's contractual.

Young Hollywood

What's cooler, I think?

Skylar Astin

Yeah, probably.

Young Hollywood

Do you have a story?

Young Hollywood

A good work story?

Skylar Astin

Um, I I don't cuz I worked in a very boring, uh, situation.

Skylar Astin

It was uh, with a uh, contracting firm uh, for the Department of Defense in Washington, D. C. I answered telephones and then I kept track of how many people called during a day.

Skylar Astin

And then I sat online and looked at websites all day.

Young Hollywood

Did you acquire a porn habit at that point?

Skylar Astin

No.

Skylar Astin

I mean, I should have.

Skylar Astin

I I literally saw all of the websites possible in in 2004.

Skylar Astin

I knew every website available.

Young Hollywood

We were talking about old jobs.

Young Hollywood

Obviously, this is a workplace comedy.

Young Hollywood

Right.

Skylar Astin

Good segue.

Young Hollywood

You like that?

Skylar Astin

Yeah.

Young Hollywood

Oh, we're there's like I got tons of those coming up for every subject I need to tackle with you.

Skylar Astin

So, are we going into my my jobs?

Skylar Astin

My past jobs?

Young Hollywood

I want to know before you became an actor.

Young Hollywood

Epically famous for being adorable and talented an actor.

Young Hollywood

Your worst job experience.

Skylar Astin

Worst?

Young Hollywood

Worst.

Skylar Astin

The one I hate it.

Skylar Astin

I worked as a deli boy at an organic deli in New York.

Young Hollywood

At Ben's, right?

Skylar Astin

At no.

Skylar Astin

It was this place called Back to Earth.

Skylar Astin

It's a great place.

Skylar Astin

I just um, it was tough.

Skylar Astin

We had to make juices and smoothies and on top of deli stuff and and and cleaning out the juicer was always really difficult.

Skylar Astin

And a lot of times it the the kale or a lot of greens would get like caught in the juicer.

Skylar Astin

And when that would happen, it would make that sound like the like and then you got to clean it out all this person is like waiting for their 48 ounce all green juice, which takes like an hour each to do.

Skylar Astin

So, that was a nightmare.

Young Hollywood

That does sound nightmarish.

Skylar Astin

It would like sometimes bust like three times for like one juice.

Young Hollywood

Want to talk about Ground Floor?

Skylar Astin

I'd love to.

Skylar Astin

It is fun.

Skylar Astin

It is a super hilarious cast.

Skylar Astin

I play Brody Moyer, who is this upstairs, uh, really successful young money manager, who generally when when these characters are in movies or TV shows, they're always like the jerk.

Skylar Astin

They're always like this entitled, I have so much money.

Skylar Astin

I'm a fast talker kind of a guy.

Skylar Astin

But it's really funny because he's really soft and he's just got so many flaws.

Skylar Astin

And you really get to see that and they're really exposed to his relationships with Jenny, who's his um, lover.

Skylar Astin

And uh, Mr. Mansfield, played by John McGinley, who is kind of his boss/father figure.

Young Hollywood

Yeah.

Young Hollywood

And you're the love interest.

Skylar Astin

I know.

Skylar Astin

How fun is that?

Young Hollywood

Well, let's talk about it.

Skylar Astin

Really great.

Young Hollywood

Okay.

Young Hollywood

Let's talk about love.

Skylar Astin

Let's talk about it.

Skylar Astin

Yeah.

Young Hollywood

Do you love playing opposite him?

Skylar Astin

Yes, I do.

Skylar Astin

It is so fun.

Skylar Astin

This, you know, the context that this romance is in is so fun to to play with and against.

Skylar Astin

It's great.

Young Hollywood

Are you comfortable?

Skylar Astin

Hmm?

Young Hollywood

Are you comfortable in the chair?

Skylar Astin

Oh, I'm absolutely comfortable.

Skylar Astin

Yeah.

Skylar Astin

Yeah, yeah.

Skylar Astin

Why wouldn't I be?

Young Hollywood

Cuz your leg is slightly over your head.

Skylar Astin

Do you want to talk about my sneakers?

Young Hollywood

Would you like to talk about your sneakers?

Young Hollywood

I love them.

Young Hollywood

And I would love to talk about them.

Skylar Astin

If you guys cut this right, I'm gonna look really charming.

Skylar Astin

If you cut it wrong, I'm gonna look like a giant douchebag.

Young Hollywood

Yes.

Young Hollywood

Is that the word?

Skylar Astin

Yeah.

Young Hollywood

Is that you were thinking?

Skylar Astin

Yeah.

Young Hollywood

You're going with?

Skylar Astin

Yeah.

Skylar Astin

Yeah, yeah.

Young Hollywood

You said it, though.

Skylar Astin

Thank you.

Young Hollywood

You guys are screaming and bad words.

Young Hollywood

Right.

Young Hollywood

So, we drop a couple bombs.

Skylar Astin

Bombs and I'm a bombs.

Skylar Astin

Uh-huh.

Skylar Astin

Uh-huh.

Skylar Astin

We get I get one shit, a B-word, and then an ass.

Skylar Astin

I think we get a combination of two out of those three an episode.

Young Hollywood

Speaking of, Alexis and I discussed snake.

Skylar Astin

Of course, you did.

Skylar Astin

Because she's a herpetologist.

Young Hollywood

Did she drop the herpetologist on you?

Skylar Astin

She didn't use that word, but did you know that snake has fur in it?

Young Hollywood

Of course, it does.
