Hey guys, Audrey Cleo here for Young Hollywood, about to find out the family secrets on the set of Welcome to the Family.
Michael O'Malley, thank you for welcoming me into your TV family.
Thank you. Always happy to have all of Young Hollywood watching and hanging out in my fake house.
We're hanging out in the Yoder family living room with the Yoder matriarch Mary McCormick.
I'm with Ricardo Chavira.
Pretty good, pretty good.
Pretty good. Pretty good. A damn good try for a first try.
Hanging out with Joseph Haro and Fabrizio Guido of Welcome to the Family. Thank you for welcoming me into your family, your TV family.
Anytime.
Yeah, thank you.
You guys play brothers uh on the show. So tell me a little bit about that dynamic.
Well, he he gets Molly, which is Ella Rae Peck's character, pregnant and then like I'm trying to deal, I'm also trying to deal with the Clash of the Families and sometimes I feel like I don't belong in any of the families. And it's a little weird and it's kind of like we both feel like we don't belong 'cause he's like overachiever.
Yeah.
And I'm the underachiever so we're totally like opposites.
Yeah, exactly. I'm like the valedictorian and I'm like super motivated, super driven and then this kid is just like I don't want to go to baseball. The simplest task is like too much. So it's really funny to see those opposites kind of play out.
I think what's fun for me to play is that I'm a becoming a grandmother, which I'm really not ready for but also having a baby. I mean in the pilot we find out that I'm pregnant. And so that's a really interesting potential crisis.
Yeah, presents a bunch of messy situations.
Yes.
Molly and Junior, the kids on the show. Great actors. They're awesome. They play kind of first loves.
Yes.
First crushes. Do you remember your first crush? Do you remember your first love?
Um trying to think. My first crush I think I no, no that my first crush was like my cousin's friend. But she I was I was like four at the time and she was like 16.
Honestly, like elementary school, kindergarten was like my heyday. I was in my prime. So I had a lot of crushes. Amy, Michelle, Jenny, Mallory. So I can't I can't just pick one.
They're watching and they're like, yeah, they're like, I remember that.
Pay the wondering eye there.
My first love was Mike Garver who was a I went to college with. He had a beautiful voice.
I hope so.
He had a beautiful voice, singer and a hockey player. sort of a weird combination but very sweet. He was like part jock, part artist. Yeah, he was great.
First kiss. That one's better. That one's safer.
First kiss felt like abuse. This girl kind of just came up and put it on me. It was Christine. I was just like, wow, you just made me have your my first kiss with you. It was it felt like she was bullying me. It really did. Yeah.
It can happen. Guys can get bullied too. How old were you? How old were you when this happened?
I'm probably third grade.
Uh on the set you see I was even dropping a little bit. It sounds like you guys have a lot of fun.
Yeah.
Maybe a little too much fun with the golf carts there with Tacos.
About that. I mean, come on, golf carts are. They're just asking to be stolen, aren't they?
Yes, they are. But I need to keep stuff like on the down low because then I get people in trouble.
And can you even do you even have a driver's permit? Do you need a driver's permit for a golf cart?
Yeah. Not even Joey can drive one. They won't even let me.
They won't even let you drive. What kind of insurance policy do they have you under? You are not doing anything fun.
I don't know. But it's week two. So, I think give us a couple more weeks and we'll start pulling some pranks, stealing some golf carts, you know. Don't repeat that to anybody. But that's our plan.
That that thing is not even on. You guys, yeah, secret is safe with me. You are married in real life.
Yes, you are. I think I am. Am I? Yes, I am. My husband works out of town a lot. We have children. Those those are real kids. Those those are very real. They're very real, right? Okay. Times three. 13 years, three kids. 10, eight, six.
Thank you. Congratulations.
Well, I mean, when you're congratulating the guy, you're just basically congratulating him for having a lot of sex, right? And that's really all you're doing. Right.
My wife and I started dating when we were very young. We met in high school.
Wow.
And so we've been together 20, 24 years. Um not for everybody. Sometimes I I think we both wonder if it's even for us. Um but uh but we've we've found a way to go get through it and make it work.
Have you had any run-ins with in-laws or do you have any advice for surviving in-laws?
I am so blessed. I have I'm not sound like a I sound like a jerk, but I have the best in-laws. My mother-in-law's one of my best friends in the world.
Any in-law survival advice? Since there's that kind of culture clash in-laws clash on the show.
Choose your words carefully and remember that sometimes silence is the best policy.
I would say that the the most important thing for surviving your in-laws is pick the right person to marry. Because you really do marry the family, right? You marry the family. I married a wonderful lady and her parents are wonderful. However, and they'll be watching this. However, and they know this, they cook too much food.
Speaking of family, your ex-TV wife Eva Longoria. We heard rumblings that she might be coming on the show.
She's coming.
All right. All right. Any any hints as to who she'll be playing or
You know, I don't know. I don't know what I don't know to what degree we've talked about that. She's coming in. Um I I'll say this, um she is playing a character that is from Miguel's past. Um and they were romantically involved.
Of course. Of course they were. Yeah. You guys are such a handsome team. Which which sets off uh his wife Lizette played by the beautiful and very talented Justina Machado. You on the show have a little bit of beef with Ricardo Chavira.
I do. Yes.
Do you guys work that out in the boxing gym that I saw on my way over here?
We work it out a little in the boxing gym. We work it out by, you know, uh every once in a while throwing one another a little uh dig here and there.
If you were thrown into that ring against Ricardo, who would win?
Gonna kick him in the nuts.
I I did not put any rules. This isn't the UFC. This isn't
Um if no one is wearing protective cups, I like my chances.
Okay. All right. And and lastly, you we saw you on Glee. You were part of the Warblers.
Yeah, yeah.
Will we be getting any song and dance on Welcome to the Family? I don't know if that's a musical episode perhaps. I mean, musical episodes are very popular these days, so you never know. Uh but I don't know if that's in Junior's, you know, abilities. I don't think he's musical.
Really? Or we'll find out. I mean, everyone has a voice. It's just good or bad. So, we'll see. On set, Joey's always singing. He's
I can't help it.
Really? He sings about everything.
I'm going to have you put you on the box. We're singing on golf carts. We're singing.
Well, he wanted me to rap about golf carts, so.
I was making the beat.
Well, now that you have you have you have to. You have to. You just bolly that one over to me. I'm glad that you now you have to do it. You have to.
No, I know that. It's not good. It's really not good.
count them in.
It's going to be awful. Okay. Okay. We have to do it. Okay. Yo, we're here with Young Hollywood. You came to hang out over in the Yoderhood. Yeah. We're in the kitchen. It's pretty I'm not gonna say that word 'cause that's absurd. I'm on camera, right? Oh, what? What? Welcome to the family. Boom.
Nice. Yes. It like slowly just got worse. So, there you go. Thanks you so much. Thanks a lot for for the beatbox. Awesome. Thank you so much. Thanks a lot for Fabrizio for the beatbox.
