"Burn the Floor" is too hot for TV

Welcome to Young Hollywood. Hi, I'm Adam Ray for Young Hollywood standing in front of the Pantages theater because I'm about to go talk to some of the cast of the new hit dance show Burn the Floor. I want to see if I can get some free dance tips.

The show is uh pretty much about the history of ballroom dancing. Um we take you through journey of uh the dances pretty much from Chacha to Samba to Rumba. The 20s and the 30s and the 40s and the 60s. I mean it's roller coaster of a show.

Salsa is a big part of the show. I love salsa dancing. What is your favorite type of salsa dip?

With nachos?

Yeah, like like like nachos, yeah, definitely. Like what like what would you want to dip a chip in?

Pico de gallo.

I love it, yeah.

Salsa verde.

Yep, don't know what that was, but uh but that's probably that sounded good. I actually auditioned for the show. I got to like the second round and I was curious if you could just give me a little feedback and see some of the moves that I did in the audition. Is there anything in there that I could take to a second audition?

No.

I'm here with Anya and Pasha. So the rehearsal process, I mean, obviously, it's pretty grueling, right? You guys are really working your bodies.

Absolutely. It's a two-hour non-stop show. We don't stop. I mean, Pasha and I, we're principal dancers, so we come and go, but some of the dancers, they're on stage for almost two hours straight. I don't know how they do it.

What is it what are the criteria for like meet like a good dance partner? Like for me, I would be like, you gotta be able to dance, you gotta be able to shimmy well.

He wants to do a shimmy. That's really kind of why I came here was to

I like to do it in slow, yeah.

Oh, there's always gotta be a face.

You more can a artistic internal kind of dancer, right?

Thank you. Thank you. A lot of people see that. If you could take like a minute or two just to teach me maybe uh some moves.

So maybe we should pair you up and try to do a little dance together.

And now you're gonna hold her. And that's uh almost a death drop. Yes. Okay, bring her up. Yes. Do it do it one more time but a little bit faster, okay? Ready?

I couldn't believe it. Um I didn't actually go into that um show thinking I was gonna win or even get into the top 20, you know, so um I'm amazed at where my journey was started from So You Think to where I am now.
