Young Hollywood

Hey everyone, it's Michelle Mari with Young Hollywood and Vitamin Water. We are here with Jerry Rice at the Miami Rice Event here out at Super Bowl. Tonight's a really big night for you. How are you feeling?

Jerry Rice

I feel fantastic. It's a great night. This fundraiser is to support the Bonnie Connie Foundation, you know, with Mark and also Nick. It's a great occasion. You know, you got people coming out, celebrating, raising money and of course, we have Super Bowl 44, you know, against the Colts and also the Saints. I'm happy to be here. I have great memories here in Miami. Super Bowl 23 and I think Super Bowl 29.

Young Hollywood

Absolutely. Well, you are a three-time Super Bowl champion. Now, what was it like when you played in the Super Bowl? What was maybe like a few things you could tell to the players out there kind of advice?

Jerry Rice

It was nerve-racking for me because the night before I couldn't sleep. And I played the game over and over in my head. It's almost like you visualized what's going to happen the next day. And it happened that way for me but I had a great time, you know, against Cincinnati. We won it on that final drive. Then we came back and you know, Steve Young, he was the quarterback and we won another Super Bowl. It was fantastic. And we've done it here, we did it right here in Miami. Right here in Miami, baby. Miami, right? Miami Rice right here.

Young Hollywood

Now, one thing too, you're reuniting with all of your other teammates, you know, they're all gonna be here tonight. What was it like getting back together with everyone?

Jerry Rice

It brought back a lot of memories. You know, going into battle with those guys and, uh, and just going out there and playing the game and and and really enjoying the game. Right. The football players, the athletes, we draw energy from the fans. Absolutely. And and when you got fans that are really supportive, you want to go out there and and and give it 100%. So, uh, you know, there's a lot going on for me this week and you know, they also got this, uh, this Hall of Fame.

Young Hollywood

That's what I was gonna say. I mean, you are about to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Are you scared?

Jerry Rice

I'm terrified to death because I don't know exactly what's gonna happen. You know, I'm in the final 15 and it's gonna be great. You know, we got some great, great players and I feel like everyone really deserved to be in it. Absolutely. Uh, but if I'm one of the guys selected, I get a chance to say thank you to the coaches, to the fans of course and also, uh, you know, my teammates.

Young Hollywood

What would mean more to you? A Super Bowl trophy or a Hall of Fame jacket?

Jerry Rice

I think they go neck and neck.

Young Hollywood

Neck and neck?

Jerry Rice

Neck and neck because I I played the game to win Super Bowls. Right. And, uh, but now to be inducted into the Hall of Fame,

Young Hollywood

Uh-huh.

Jerry Rice

You know, to get a chance to stand up there with the legends.

Young Hollywood

Right, right.

Jerry Rice

Oh my God. But the only thing, I gotta get my my my yellow jacket tapered.

Young Hollywood

One last question. If you were to actually, um, pick three people maybe that could maybe challenge your records and your career records. Who do you think right now could challenge those?

Jerry Rice

Larry Fitzgerald, also, Terrell Owens and probably, uh, Randy Moss.
