Okay, we are back at the Staples Center. It is day two of NHL's All-Star Weekend. It is the celebrity legend game and Justin Bieber is skating behind me. Here you are coaching the celebs, some legends. What's it like being called to tell Bieber what to do out on the ice?

Wayne Gretzky

You know, I told him. I said, don't worry about anything. 97 will take care of you. You know, it's so nice that Bieber came and played. You know, he grew up playing ice hockey, so you can tell he's got some ability. He can skate and he knows the game very well. So when you get a young man like that who comes and donates his time to play and participate in this event. It's wonderful for youth hockey, it's great for the charity event itself. And I know Connor had fun playing with him and I know even Big Eric Lindros had fun being on that line.

Young Hollywood

Well, you laced up for charity, playing with the big guys.

Justin Bieber

Yeah, it was great. You know, it's easy to to do anything for charity, especially if it's a sport you love and there's one or two people that you admire, it makes it especially great. But to have the greatest of all time there coaching behind the net is just behind the bench is just great. Let's talk about today. Right? I mean, it's the NHL All-Star Game. I'm in the locker room with Nicholas Lidstrom from the Detroit Red Wings. His naked ass was to my right. Wayne Gretzky was yelling at me in the bunch, Rosie, Rosie, I'm going to demote you to Baker's Field, you keep skating like that. Dennis Savard, the old timer who created the spinarama, you know. When you turn on a dime like that it's a spinarama, it's Dennis Dennis Savard. I mean, it's amazing. Yeah, it's always uh it's always thrilling to play with some of these guys. Joe Sakic gave me a great pass and I whiffed on it. I just, you know. That's gonna be my dreams. it's great, it's just a treat. It's like but today I put my you know, Barm put my stuff in the gear and then the limo showed up and I jumped in the back and then it pulled down the ramp and then I was you know to press conference it's magical. I feel like Mr. Cinderella. You know it's like it's a fairy tale day and it's great and to know that we're doing this for charity is really, really special.

Wayne, people credit you for bringing hockey to LA. How does that make you feel?

Wayne Gretzky

First of all, I wasn't the guy that brought it at LA. Um, a lot of people were involved and a lot of people backed it. A lot of great people that uh deserve credit. Guys like Luke Robitaille, Marty McSorley. Everybody understood that we weren't just a normal hockey team, that we were in LA, that we had to play hard. We had to win. We had to go out and promote our sport and get youth hockey involved and get high school hockey going and so each guy understood that. And we had a great, wonderful group of guys and that's what made it work.

Justin Bieber

When Wayne came to the Kings, I had a Canadian roommate Derek Bros who uh said we're gonna watch every game of the playoff series and when they made it to the Stanley Cup finals. I joined the league and it was the first time I ever skated, but I was like, I I love this this sport. I mean hanging out with Gretzky and he's the nicest These guys the thing about hockey players anytime anybody ever meets a hockey player, they're like, these guys are the nicest guys. They are because they're just normal guys.

Young Hollywood

Do you have a hockey moment that sticks out in your head as being all time great?

Justin Bieber

Um, I think the the first time Wayne Gretzky stepped on the ice as an LA King. And I was a big Rangers fan when I grew up and I always used to hate it because everybody would chant 1940, 1940 until they finally won in 94. Rangers win the cup 94 in the house Madison Square Garden searched around all night, finally found the party, found the cup, drank from the cup. Number one NHL moment. He's a tremendous Kings fan. The Kings won the Stanley Cup in 2012. So now it's 2014 and the Kings are in the final again against the Rangers. So I started to chant in my section. You ready for the chant? 1994, 1994, right? And and people picked up on it too. We were mocking the Rangers for not having one in 20 years when the Kings beat them again.

Greatest NHL moments.

Justin Bieber

Greatest NHL moment like in in when the when the New York Rangers won the Stanley Cup in 1994. Yeah. Do you believe in miracles? No more curses, no more 1940s. This is unbelievable. I loved it. Messier and Graves and all the boys. Oh man, I was Richter. It was the highlight of my life.

Greatest NHL moment.

Justin Bieber

Um, I was playing in a charity event in Aspen with uh Joe Sakic as the left winger. I was the right and we did a criss cross as we crossed the blue line and uh Sakic had said on the bench, just go to the net. I know how to get it to you. And so I did and I looked up and the puck just literally floated onto my stick and I tipped it up over the goalie's glove hand and scored and and everybody in the arena stood up and it was just one of those moments.

Wayne Gretzky

Favorite NHL moment. Uh, my first game, my first goal, you know, it's just you're you're in the NHL. I I scored on my first shift, so it was pretty special, but uh, you know, once you play your first game, you're like, okay, I'm part of this group. Now I got to make sure I stay, but it was pretty amazing.

Young Hollywood

I have to ask you about calling the 1980 Olympics. I was going to ask you what your greatest memory is. Is it that?

Wayne Gretzky

Oh, by far. Not even close. There's nothing that second place is like 18 million miles behind it.
