David Beckham vs Celebrities

Hey Young Hollywood, I'm Lindsey Gruban here at the Home Depot Center where David Beckham and the Galaxy are playing Hollywood United to raise money for wildfire relief.

It's nice to be out there on the field, obviously for a for a good cause. It makes you feel good as as a person and as as a team to be able to to raise money for the devastation that's gone on.

And how has the move to the US been for you?

It's been great. You know, it's been really smooth so far. We've really enjoyed it as a family. I've enjoyed it as a as a player as well, soccer player, so it's been it's been great.

What do you miss most about home?

Family, friends, English food. I love England, so there's certain things I miss, but uh no, I'm loving it here.

So you were an awesome goalie tonight. How did it feel to be out there getting scored on by Beckham?

To get pounded by Beckham. I I would do it every night of the week. It was so much fun.

How does it feel to be part of such a great cause?

That's fantastic. I love to play soccer and to be able to come out here. I played since I was five or six in Iowa all the way through high school. So I play as much as I can while out here in Los Angeles when I'm not working.

How does it feel to be playing for such a great cause?

And I know a lot of people who are affected by this tragedy. There's so many fires that we couldn't even keep track of them, but felt great for the the whole purpose of this thing. Les Lovett put this thing together so quickly, so many people responded and it just it says a lot about the soccer community. Let's face it, you know, when David Beckham signed with the LA Galaxy, it brought a lot of attention to to soccer here in America. We wish we could have given him a better performance. 12-4 is more like a baseball score. We put up a good fight. Uh, there were a lot of great goals and a lot of activity. You know, I think everyone had a good time.

What's it like playing against Beckham?

I could tell you this, he smells good. And Eric Benalda said that you smell great. So I think I need to say for myself. Okay, he smells really good. You're right, Benalda, you're right.
