Tony Gonsolin

Mhm, mm hmm. Mhm, mm hmm.

Young Hollywood

So Hollywood is a place where dreams are made. Take me back to your MLB dream back in the day. Little carter may have that dream to, Yeah.

Tony Gonsolin

I've always wanted to always want to play professional baseball and you didn't know it's going to be true until, until college basically. So you always dreamed about playing in the World Series. And so one of these days, hopefully I can do that. But you know, enjoying the, enjoying the day here with my wife and my son now.

Young Hollywood

Talk about you and your wife getting ready. You guys look amazing both of you who takes longer to get ready. And do you even know who you're wearing today?

Tony Gonsolin

Um Gosh, I would say we both take a little while to get ready.

Young Hollywood

Let's bring her over. You look gorgeous to come over here because the woman always tells the truth. So who takes longer to get ready? And do you even know who made his suit or been?

Tony Gonsolin

Yeah, my suit is made by tom martin kelly and and jen's playbook and you look gorgeous. Tony Gonsolin's wife: Thank you.

Young Hollywood

Who are you wearing? Do you know? And you take a long time to get ready. I mean you have to trim your beard obviously.

Tony Gonsolin

Yeah, No, not too long to get ready. You just put it on. But stitching heart in Chicago did this for me um they do an awesome job and they give part of the proceeds back to charity. So it's really cool.

Young Hollywood

Okay, so of course we are in Hollywood La La Land, if someone is playing you in a movie, who is it going to be?

Tony Gonsolin

Probably Ryan Gosling or Ryan Reynolds, you know, one of those two guys, the game is in mere hours.

Young Hollywood

What are you looking forward to today?

Tony Gonsolin

I'm just looking forward to being out there with the guys. Um you know, I get to watch the first few innings and really soak it in. That's gonna be a really, really fun moment to be in the dugout. You know, I think this is every kid's dream. You play an All Star game, make the big leagues. I know when you're a kid, you're playing football and you know, you're those big moments, you know, you know, win the World Series, gets the All Star game, all that kind of stuff. So pretty special that I'm here.

Young Hollywood

I'm standing next to not just any baseball player, the home run Derby winner, walk me through what it's like to win that accomplishment.

Juan Soto

You feel great, you just feel amazing to get done all that and be part of all this All star game now.

Young Hollywood

You got a piece of jewelry after you want. Talk about it, just amazing!

Juan Soto

The World, the Championship Derby chain, It was pretty heavy, but it's worth it now.

Young Hollywood

Last time you and I spoke, you were just playing a regular game at Dodger Stadium and now here you are at the All Star Game. What's the difference in your mind?

Juan Soto

It's really different. You know, you get all the fans cheering for you instead of booing you. It just feels different, a different way and different feeling in the field.

Young Hollywood

So yes, we are in Hollywood, the place where dreams are made. Take me back to when you were a little boy and you had a dream of not just the All Star game, but MLB for me, I just uh all the kids have been dreaming about this beyond the All Star B. B. An All Star in the big leagues and my mind just came through and I'm just trying to enjoy as much as you can.

Young Hollywood

Take me back to when you were a little boy and you dreamed of not just the All Star game, but MLB in general.

Trea Turner

Yeah. So I've always wanted to be a big league big league ball player and I put my all my eggs in one basket and I'm just really fortunate that the hard work paid off.

Young Hollywood

Take me through that hard work.

Trea Turner

Yeah. Um it's every day. It's a lot of dedication. There's a lot of work that you put in behind closed doors that no one really sees and having the mental fortitude to continue when you're faced with failure. This was always a dream as a kid and it's something that um you know, you don't always, as you get farther into the game, you don't, you see how hard it is to do and how big of an accomplishment it is. So um yeah, I mean it's the highlight of my career for sure. And um it's been an unbelievable experience.

Young Hollywood

Now this is your first dance at the All Star game. How does it feel to be in L. A. Experiencing this because we do it kind of big here.

Trea Turner

Yeah. No, it's it's huge being in the same division as L. A. We come here a lot. Stay at this hotel so it's kind of familiar with that stuff. But um to, you know, to experience all this stuff. Yeah, this is definitely different.

Young Hollywood

And who's playing you in a movie?

Trea Turner

Who's playing me in a movie? I'd like to say Chris Hemsworth, I think we have some of the best fans in baseball. We got a lot of cardinals fans here today. It's nice to see him and I love them. They're always there supporting us and couldn't be more thankful have a fan base.

Guest

Yeah. You know, I was playing wiffle ball in the backyard with my brother and we would, you know pick teams and pretend to be certain players and you know, now I get to, you know, kind of see those guys and see those veterans and those, those old all stars and everything comes full circle. It's great.

Young Hollywood

Now you guys all look amazing. You've coordinated colors. Amazing. Who takes longer to get ready Now. Do I need to bring your beautiful wife over here to get the real answer?

Guest

Um, our, our youngest son takes the longest to get ready. It's a onesie, It's a diaper, the socks, the bibs, the bottle, he's, you know, he's a full service pit stop right now.

Young Hollywood

Well you clean up really well. Who are you wearing?

Guest

This? L A V suit and our daughters are in these beautiful little dresses from Target.

Young Hollywood

Well, of course targets. Target. Target. Target on the red carpet. Its target, you're very right now. Who's playing you in a movie? Because we are in Hollywood. Of course,

Guest

I don't know. I heard Miles Teller had a nice mustache and top gun and we have the same first name. So that just might be an easy crossover. Miles Teller. I got you another job. There you go. Here we go. Let's make it happen. Second guest: Yeah, I mean, I grew up watching this game every year. You know, it's all the stars and it's kind of surreal to be amongst those guys. Now.

Young Hollywood

Now you are wearing Bruins colors. Tell me who you're wearing because you clean up Nice. Second guest: This is Gentleman's Playbook. I didn't plan the brewers colors, but this was one of the available patterns that I had to Choose from in the 24 hours notice that I had. So it worked out well, it's great, you know, this is probably the most fun I've had so far on this all star break, but it's really cool to come out here and experience with the community.

Young Hollywood

Well you clean up really well by the way, tell me we have, who are you wearing? Really, Second guest: Thank you. Yeah, this is the suit Kersh funded. So I think it turned out really great.

Young Hollywood

Now walk me through the determination, the grit, the, I don't know, the ups, the downs of getting to where you are. Second guest: Yeah, there's definitely ups and downs in everyone's career. So it's been really been really fortunate for this year and and how it turned out, especially after last year getting hurt and trying to take the off season as best I can and come back healthy.

Young Hollywood

So the Dodgers of course have welcomed tons of all stars too. L a talk about the experience, what the energy feels like in this town, in the stadium. Second guest: Yeah, it's great. This town's crazy. Um the events are unbelievable and the fans are really good. They show up and and get behind us. So it's been so much fun to come to all these things and this also weeks, no different. They are, they're doing a great job and it's fun seeing them out here.

Young Hollywood

Okay, obviously you are here and you know about Hollywood, it's the place where dreams are made. So take me back to when you were a little kid, not only dreaming of the All Star game, but MLB in general. Take me back to that moment. You're like, that's where I'm gonna be. Second guest: Yeah, I grew up big baseball fans. All I played when I was a kid from, you know when I was probably 34 years old, so I played so being in florida, you can play around with the warm weather and um I just loved it went to a million marlins games growing up and I got a chance to go to World Series when I was a kid. So it's just it's always been a part of my life and it's it's crazy being being here now.

Young Hollywood

Talk about what you have to go through the ups the downs the mental game just to even stay in it. Second guest: Yeah, the mental game is big. You know, I think the older you get, the more you realize it's a lot more mental than physical and and uh yeah, it's tough but it's good being on a good team and winning. I think that always helps. That helps, you know, the the morale and whatnot. So it's it's good being here,

Juan Soto

who are you wearing stitched? I never thought that I'm gonna be here one day, but you know, God gave me the chance to be back here and represent my, my my family represent my country and my team. So I'm pretty proud to be here and I'm going to enjoy it while you are here and proud.

Young Hollywood

Look at this outfit, can you just do a spin for me? Who is this? Because you look, I think honestly you win best dress in my book.

Juan Soto

Thank you. I mean I'm just trying to look different, you know, I don't I don't like to work what people used to warn, you know, as a it's an all star game and I've never been in one and this is my first one. I just want to look good and you know, trying to be, to look good to everybody.

Young Hollywood

You look amazing, you're coordinating with your family who made this suit

Juan Soto

my fiancee, she made the decision and I just, I just, you know, wearing and who we are awesome.

Young Hollywood

Okay, here we are indeed Hollywood. They make movies here if you haven't heard who's playing you in a movie, like he's really strong and I really watched him growing up, so he's one of my heroes. So here we are in Hollywood, of course, the place where dreams are made. Take me back to when you were a kid and you dreamed, I'm sure big time of the All star game and MLB, you're just doing baseball player, you work so hard and take every every minute to put your family on the front and you know, it's something, it's been for a long time, like you say, working so hard to talk about that work. What goes into it to make it here?
