Welcome to Young Hollywood. What's up guys? I'm Tatiana Dana. We're hanging out with Terry Kennedy. How are you?

I'm doing well. How are you doing today?

Well, word on the street is, you're Compton ass Terry, and I just wanted to let you know I'm Compton ass Tata, so we already have so much in common. It's tight. It's tight. So, obviously, we know you as a skater, but you have a reality show now. Yes. How is it being in front of everybody having your personal life kind of out there?

Um, it was kind of, it was kind of, I was kind of nervous to film for the first time, but I think once we got over like probably the first two, three episodes from there it just became natural and I think my family loosened up to it and, and me as well. And then from then on, it just, it became comfortable, so we good.

So, we've already seen four episodes of your show. What is, is there anything cool coming up? An episode that you're really excited?

I'm actually the one that's coming up is actually my favorite. This is when I get rekindle with my father. And it's kind of crazy because, yeah, I haven't seen him over 20 years and actually, the first time I've seen him was on the show. So, we got to tape that and just take the whole real organicness of it and it was emotional. It was emotional.

That was intense.

Yeah. Yeah, super emotional, but, um, it's something that I just, I'm glad I was able to do 'cause I'm like, I lost my mom young and now I got my father back, so now it's like, I'm so excited. I'm excited.

Were you actually nervous about the whole process and your dad reacting? Did he know that there were gonna be cameras there?

Yeah, they, he did. And me, I, my reality show, it just taps on more so the family. It taps on the skateboard and it taps on me just being an entrepreneur. So, I can't really fake that. That's stuff that's natural going on in my life and it's a natural course that I'm taking, so I mean, I guess it's just, you know, it's, um, to me, I look at it as just a motivational tool for people to see that, you know, despite of what goes on in your life or whatever your chosen field, you still can,

Yeah.

do something and become something, so just have a dream.

So, Fly Society's doing pretty well. Tell me how you got involved and what made you decide to start that brand?

Um, I got involved through, it's just two of us actually, um, it's my cousin Heath and my producer, Flam, Felix. But we started it in '07 and when we started it up, we always wanted it to be a clothing line and, uh, a music brand. Since it was just something that we just thought had a cool name and it sound good and we just continued to just grow it every which way we could. You know, and from there came up with a good logo and from there, people gravitated to it and now it's, you know, it's off and running, so it's a, it's a great situation.

What's your sound like?

Um, I was, dude, I come from skateboarding, you know, so I grew up around rock and roll. Alternative. Alternative. Um, hip-hop, you know, of course, uh, reggae, all stuff. So, with us, I think we just, we got a natural sound. We try to, try to, try to chase all those elements in one because like I'm saying, I just grew up listening to so much different music because my teammates are so many different races and ethnicities. So,

Right.

I learned so much music. And that's one thing I love. I never been closed-minded to music. I listen to, like you said, alternative rock, back to hip-hop, to everything. So, I would say it's more like skate related. You know, it's that kind of like just that
