Young Hollywood

Here with Danny Kass, I'm gonna have my first snowboarding lesson ever, and I might as well learn from the best.

Danny Kass

That's right, we're gonna take you from the top to the bottom.

Young Hollywood

Okay, not from the bottom to the top?

Danny Kass

Well, I mean, either way, we're gonna find the top and the bottom.

Young Hollywood

And I'm gonna end up on my bottom. Because this is what you picked out.

Danny Kass

This is what I picked out for you. White.

Young Hollywood

Yeah. Thank you. How'd you know?

Danny Kass

Well, we need a ski bunny. To figure out which way you're going, we're gonna give you here stay like this. Okay. And then we're gonna push you. And then since you stepped with your front foot, this will be your lead.

Young Hollywood

I'm left foot. So this is my lead foot. So you're gonna be regular. You're gonna be regular footed. I'm regular. And what's the other way? Goofy. Oh, I'm not goofy.

Danny Kass

You're not goofy. No.

Young Hollywood

All right, Danny. I got the gear. I like my outfit. I'm happy. I got the boots.

Danny Kass

And you know your stance.

Young Hollywood

And I know my stance. Let's go. So, the next thing, it's time to shred. Let's go shred. So, should we just start out with a method grab?

Danny Kass

The method grab will be lesson number two. Right now, we're gonna work on you strapping it in.

Young Hollywood

Okay, let's strap it in. Strapping it on.

Danny Kass

You're gonna slip your foot in there. Okay. All right? Yep. You gotta keep that one foot on the ground. Once I lock you in, you're locked in.

Young Hollywood

I'm locked in. All right.

Danny Kass

This is going to be your kind of stopping. Okay. You're gonna kind of go slightly on your heels, like lift up your toes a little bit. Okay. Yep. You feel that?

Young Hollywood

Yep. Bend the knees a little bit. Okay. All right, so. It's a very similar motion to some other activities.

Danny Kass

Which activities we talking about? Oh, skateboarding or surfing. Exactly.

Young Hollywood

Skateboarding. That's what I was thinking. Okay, so when I pull this foot away, You're gonna be snowboarding. (Music) I loved you all. It was nice knowing you. Don't wait up. (Music) So this is a short few feet away from where you won your silver medal?

Danny Kass

This is actually, yeah, a snowball's toss from where I won uh, my first Olympic medal. Basically what you learned today is what I'll be doing 130 days this year.

Young Hollywood

I'll be challenging you for that medal. Okay. After this lesson today. I'm in. Thank you, Danny Kass.

Danny Kass

You're very welcome.

Young Hollywood

That was fun. Best teacher ever.
