Hey guys, Jessica Smith here bringing you an all access pass to the X Games.
Hey guys, here with Ronnie Fice, Moto Legend, in my opinion, and in a lot of people's.
So tell me a little bit about X Games and what you love to do.
Um, well, this is a speed and style event and I really like this event because uh, I grew up racing. So I have a racing background. I like I raced for like 13 years and then I moved out to California and I started freestyling. I did freestyle for 15 years. And now I'm kind of at the end of my career. I'm probably going to ride for like another five more years. So this event's cool for me because it has both racing and freestyle. So and it's at X Games and I I think X Games for Action Sports is it's kind of like, it's like our Olympics for us. It's the biggest thing in Action Sports. So it's like the biggest event of the year. So to come out and try to get on the podium here is like huge for us. So.
Now, how has the sport progressed since it started?
Freestyle's come a long way. I've been in it since the beginning and it started out with like just basic little easy tricks and like I don't know if you were here last night. It's seen some of the stuff some of the guys are trying best trick and the day before freestyle, it's crazy. It's just it's on a whole another level. Like people do stuff that's like video game tricks. It's crazy.
So, what do you do to prepare for X Games?
Um, for this event, I spent a lot of time. I actually built a track at my house and uh, I just spent a lot of time riding at my house and then so a lot of time on the bike and then off the bike. I change up like I go to the gym normally, but I usually just lift a lot of weights. I changed to like more strength training, more cardio training. I started doing like hill sprints, like cuz it's our our race is only four laps, so it's real fast. So I started doing like hill sprints to get my heart rate up. So mix it up a little bit. So, I like to train though. I don't like to sit at home. I'm always like on the move. So ride and train is kind of fun for me. Some guys don't like to train, but I like it.
Now what's the one event that you actually like to watch as an X Gamer? As other sports?
Yeah. Um I like the, I like the the Mega Ramp. I think the Mega Ramp's pretty thing. And then even like the park, like the the BMX park, some guys are nuts. They do that stuff. So it's pretty cool.
Now we were talking to Deegan because a lot of times whenever people think of X Games, they think of the Metal Militia because like you guys are the ones to kind of like watch out for. How do you feel to be a part of that?
It's cool, man. I've been a part of the Metal Militia since it's been around and uh, you know, it just started as a group again. A group of friends that just loved to ride and hang out and uh, it it blew up and it's it's now it's like one of the biggest teams of freestyle and um, some of our guys already picked up some metals here last night. Uh, Jack Strong got a gold medal and uh, yeah we got a strong team.
Now, I know you said that you're good at you have one more practice before eliminations. Would you possibly let me on the back of your bike to teach me how to ride a little bit?
You want to learn how to ride?
I really do. I really do. Can I
on camera, yes, I will teach you how to ride. Yeah, I'll teach you how to ride. You got it.
