Hey guys, I'm here with the one and only Chuck Liddell here at ESPN's Body Issue event.
Now, you definitely work really hard on your body, especially being an athlete and a dancer.
Good job on the show.
I try. I try. Yeah. You did a good job. I mean, you won everyone's hearts.
Thank you very much. Thank you.
Your sport right now is just blowing up. How do you feel about the way that it's grown over the years?
It's been great. I mean, I'm I'm really excited about how it's grown. I mean, uh I've been here for a long time and and kind of came up with the sport, so it's been great.
Now, what are we going to see next with you, Chuck? Are you going to be fighting soon? What can we hear?
Uh I don't know about that. We're we're going to I'm going to get back in the gym and and see what I think. when I'm I you know, I still I still want to Mhm. I see how I feel. I'm going to take some time off and I got I'm doing a little movie thing for for that's like a week. I mean, it's not much shifting over. It's it's Yeah. It's just.
You're going to be an actor now?
No. We'll work on it. We'll work on that when I'm when I'm sure I'm done. We're going to have to look though. Yeah. What I decide, I'm sure I'm done, I'm going to try to do some acting stuff but uh It's a hard thing though to make a decision to be finished, you know? It's hard it's all I've been doing here. It's all I've been doing my whole life. I I don't know what it'd be like not to have a fight coming up or or a game coming up or uh a season coming up or something.
What is your pre-ritual before you go out there?
Uh you know, I joke around and laugh keep it mellow, just keep it keep it light because I I don't want to burn all my energy before I get out there. I've been telling about 20, 30 minutes before the fight, I'm goofing around, joking with my brothers.
Fighting or dancing?
I guess it's going to be fighting. I'm going to have to stick with fighting. Yeah. I'm going to stick with it.
What made you want to go on the show in the very first place? I mean, you're such a polar opposite.
Well, it's it's that's what it is. Their demographic is the complete opposite of ours. And I was I'm trying to get to introduce people to our sport. I I'm trying to get them to realize that we're not a bunch of Neanderthals and in in and, you know, a meathead. So, we I got we got normal people that just happen to be good at fighting.
When you were younger, what did you dream of doing? Were you always wanting to be a fighter?
Uh I was like a normal kid. I wanted to be a baseball player, football player, and along the way I by the time I was about 18, 19, I want I want to own I want to own my own martial arts gym. So Awesome. I started wanting to fight and kind of went from there. Got lucky. Got got Got to do it for a living.
Isn't it crazy?
It's crazy. I look back. It's nuts. I I love it. I mean, I'm just you know, surprised.
