Welcome to Younghollywood. com.
Hey Young Hollywood, it's Michelle Murray and I am here in the green room with White Rabbits.
Now, you guys just performed for Yahoo Music's The New Now.
I'll take it from me.
What else could you do?
And how ready you get off and how can I get there to Why it time?
We call it dignified.
Great job, by the way.
Oh, thank you.
Yeah, how do you feel about the performance?
It was fun.
It's a lot of cameras.
I hear you talking but I don't see the need.
We played Percussion Gun, uh, The Lady Vanishes and Rudy Fails.
You had a lot of energy.
Where does this all come from?
What's your pre-ritual before you go on stage?
Well, we sit in the van and so we have a lot of energy to get out of us, yeah.
And I know that you guys have two drummers and you're one of them.
Tell us about what, you know, made you guys decide to form this whole band and how it all came about.
It really wasn't a conscious decision.
Um, everybody has a lot of musical influences.
There's six guys in the band, so it's kind of a byproduct of all of our record collections and I think we like music that's very rhythmic and that's kind of how it came about.
You guys are in New York right now but you all met in Missouri.
Well, we've all been friends for a long time.
I've known Greg for over 25 years now and uh it was kind of a friendship before a band and then the band kind of formed out of everybody kind of being in the same region and uh friendship before band.
Yeah.
So the friendship is over.
Yeah.
Percussion Gun.
You're my love.
I feel the same.
Tell me about that title.
A lot of our titles are really humorous.
It can be taken anyway.
Yeah, we were just really interested in that beat and so we were just trying to write a song to that beat.
And a lot of it was improvised, a lot of like the lyrics were improvised and a lot of the melodies were improvised.
It was one of the first songs we wrote for the record, so And doing it that way was much different than what we did for the first album.
It was like very over-wrought and a lot of second guessing.
So it was nice to just do your first idea, you know.
Right.
If you guys weren't doing music, what would you be doing right now if you could pick a career?
Uh, I'm actually like a semester away from a master's degree in library science, which I never completed.
Nice.
Probably wouldn't be doing this.
I chose I chose not to do that and do the band instead.
Probably like a fireman or a cowboy or something like that.
Maybe an astronaut.
Cowboy, I like that.
I I did always want to be a cop whenever I was a kid so maybe I would go for that, yeah.
