What's up guys? Leslie Robbins here, coming to you from the Young Hollywood Studio, joined by Xdinary Heroes, the South Korean rock band that has made their way to the States. And for their first concert last night here in America and then of course they have to stop by the Young Hollywood Studio after. Welcome. We are so excited you are here, but tell me, how's America? How's LA? How's Hollywood? Your first time?
Yes. Yes. I mean, like, as a team we always dreamed of coming to US ever since we debuted. And, yes, or actually two days ago we finally arrived in the US. And it feels like a dream come true for us right now.
That's amazing. So, you flew into LAX. Did you see the In-N-Out burger on the side?
Yes, yes. It was actually the first meal we had when we arrived here.
Wait, stop, really?
Yes.
How did you hear about it? Tell me.
I mean, In-N-Out burger is so famous over in South Korea as well. And, we actually, I told them that yo, if we go to LA we have to eat In-N-Out burger as soon as possible.
So, did you go for the Double-Double? Did you go for the secret sauce? They have a secret menu.
We didn't know.
No. Next time get the grilled cheese.
Grilled cheese?
Yes.
We we actually get grilled onions on the burgers.
Grilled onions are the best. They are the best.
I think the original burger in America is also really good.
It is really good. Okay, I heard your concert was really good too. Breakdown the why and how did it go? How were how were the fans? They all came out to support you guys.
Oh. So, first of all, it was so we were so honored to be able to perform in such a historic city. Yeah. And also Jun Han was so surprised that the LA fans, like, we didn't tell them to stand up, but they were standing up the whole time. Yeah, the crowd would hype up and they would go like, "Wooh, wooh, wooh." And everyone would everyone would do that chant to hype us up. And that was really cool.
Well, how is the audience different overseas versus here? Because don't they get just as excited over there?
Yes, we've actually went to lots of countries. We went to Europe, we went to Southeast Asia. Different countries have different culture and they because they have different culture they have like different kind of energy coming out from the crowd. Yeah.
Let's talk about how you guys all came together. You're kind of a new group.
Yes. 2021. That's like yesterday almost. I guess. I mean. All right. So, it's a long story, but to make it short. So, there are four original members who were meant to be in a band. And it's Jun Han, Gaon, Jun Han and me, Gun-Il. So, we were the original band members. And we needed some keyboard players. So, O. de and Jungsu was actually trained to be K-pop fan idols. But they knew how to play keyboard. And they were they they got a chance to join our team. And they actually fit really well. And that's how we came to be a team. Yeah.
So, talk about behind the scenes as a team. How's rehearsal go? I just want to hang out with you guys. This seems like so much fun. Right?
I mean, it's really fun rocking with you guys. Thank you, thank you. To be honest, like, for us, the one of the most enjoyable things that we do is playing instruments and singing. And although during rehearsals there there aren't crowd in front of us, like, just the fact that we are playing and just singing, it makes us really happy. And also during rehearsals like right before the stage, we get to play on those big stages. And just being able to be on that big stage, even without crowds, hype us up. So, it's really fun, yeah. It's really fun.
Well, troubleshooting is fun. I mean. Troubleshooting. Well, talk it like came out and then you guys blew up. Oh. So, talk about the hype around that album. Congratulations.
Oh, thank you so much, yeah. So, O. de feels so happy because this album troubleshooting, we put so much effort into it. And like, we literally put our sweats, our tears, our blood into that album. And because we put so much effort into it, we feel so happy when someone says that this album is really great.
So, talk about more, because there's more coming. There's more to come.
So, we are doing this project called Experiment Project. And that's that started with the release of Troubleshooting album. And we part of that project is called Open Beta. And that project is basically releasing singles every single month for a set period of time. And we just recently released our new Open Beta single called Love and Fear. And Love and Fear is a very very powerful song. So, you should check it out. And the music video is really cool.
Okay. So, so the songs that are coming out in Open Beta Project, we like all of them, but amongst those songs I think Save Me is our team favorite.
It's my personal favorite. It's Jun Han's personal favorite. My too. It's everyone's personal favorite.
Cool is an understatement. Yeah. How do you guys come up with those ideas?
So, basically, like, when we were making music, we all six of us like come together. We share our like, we write melodies together, we write tracks together. We write lyrics together. And the most important part in writing music as a Xdinary Heroes is like, the most important part is whether we are having fun or not. It has to be it really has to be fun in order to make the music sound cool and good to us. Yeah.
Well, you're having fun on stage. Talk about offstage. How do you guys have fun together? Or you don't want anything to do with each other when you're not working.
I mean, we are we have fun together. I mean, so like, all six of us, when we're together, we don't like, we don't really do anything special. But it's just everything's so funny when we're all together. Like, and also like Jun Han just said just looking at each other's faces make him laugh a lot. Yeah.
Really?
Yeah.
Okay, well, who's the jokester amongst all of you guys?
Me.
Who is it?
I mean, I don't like, the thing is that I don't try to make them laugh. I just be who I am. And they just like me. They laugh about how I'm walking. They laugh about how I'm running. They say I'm going to be a comedian, but I don't know why. Cause I thought that our jokester is Jun Han because he's very yeah he acts like a jokester around all of us.
Who's the most serious? Who's the most serious?
I guess that. Yeah. Jun Han. Yeah.
And who's the most fashionable? Oh. Who? Yeah. Where are you shopping? He actually just went shopping. Here in LA. Yeah. Where? What'd you buy? How'd you How'd you do?
Oh. He doesn't have any limits. He just buys it if it's if it looks good to him, yeah. No, like, he doesn't he doesn't care what brand it is. It's just like if it looks cool, he just gets it. Gaon and Jungsu, whenever they go, they they're the most, I think, popular. Yes. In Xdinary Heroes, yeah.
Nice. Okay, well, my personal favorite city is New York. And you guys are headed there next. So, you got one more show in LA. Amazing. But then you're going to New York. And that's your first time in New York too.
That's our first time in New York.
What are you most looking forward to?
Oh, the Statue of Liberty. Yeah. It's amazing.
You got to take the ferry over, right?
Yeah, you take a ferry and then you can like pay an extra price to go up to the crown. I've actually been there with my family.
Oh, you have? Because I actually used to live in New York for like 10 years. So, I'm going to take, yeah, you can go up in the Statue of Liberty. Yeah, you can walk up the stairs. And I'm planning on taking my members to like for a little tour in New York City.
No way.
Yes. What's on the itinerary? Can you tell me?
Um, it's not there isn't like a set plan yet. But I'm thinking about taking them to Brooklyn Bridge and the Dumbo. Oh. No, it's it's a secret until you see it. Don't search up on Google, okay?
Wait, this is a safe space. We're spilling lots of secrets. Only in Young Hollywood. Only in Young Hollywood. So, Statue of Liberty, good. Brooklyn Bridge. Yes. What else you got?
Um, maybe the Central Park. And with the Brooklyn with the Brooklyn Bridge I think I'm thinking about crossing it like through we're taking a walk. And I'm hoping that I might get a chance to just enjoy a little bit in the Brooklyn Bridge Park. Yes. Watching the sunset on the Hudson River. It's beautiful.
If you go to Central Park, you should go rowboating. I want to see all of you guys in a rowboat.
Rowboat?
Yes.
What is that?
There's a there's a lake in the middle of Central Park. And you can rowboat.
Oh. I think I've seen that before, yeah.
So, with that said, who here is the strongest? The biggest muscles that wants to row around the Central Park lake.
Yeah, I mean, it's a hard question because it can there can it varies on different perspective because I think I used to be the strongest because I work work out a lot. I like deadlift, I like bench press. But I haven't worked out in a while. So, I think the strongest now is O. de because he works out every single day.
Really?
His muscles are getting big. And Jungsu, I think, is actually really strong as well because we actually went to Universal Studios like two days ago. And I got so tired after like four hours, but he doesn't he does not get tired at all.
Wait, you left out. You went to Universal Studios?
Yeah, I did.
How was that? Did you guys get recognized?
Only two of us went. But we actually did get recognized.
How'd it go?
We were actually surprised that like, I didn't I did not expect at all that we would be recognized in the US. But like, when we were taking like selfies together, like, there were some people going like, And then they would take photos of us. And some people would come up to us and ask me ask us if we're Xdinary Heroes. And we're like, oh, yes, we are. Are you coming to the show? And they were actually coming to the show. And we're like, yo, that's awesome. See you tomorrow.
But what do you think it is about you guys that just makes everyone fall in love with you?
I can give my answer. What makes us attractive to those people?
What is it?
Cool music. Cool music? Yeah. Music is the biggest part. To be honest, I think it's Gaon's visuals. I think. No. No, no, no.
Okay. So, tell me something you want to bring to America that you from home that you're like, they need it here. Anything, clothes, food, cars, anything.
I mean, everything's right here. So,
What would you want to bring from home?
Oh. My name is Leslie. He wants to bring South Korean language to use. So maybe you can have we can have conversation in Korean.
Why don't you teach me something?
