Hey Young Hollywood, I'm Michelle Hummel. I'm here with my YH Buzz Meter pick Racing Kites. Now, these guys, best friends from Jersey. Where did the name of course Racing Kites come from?

Actually, a friend of ours who wrote like a children's, like a poem about like childhood. And it had Racing Kites in it and it just kind of stuck out.

Let's talk a little bit about the sound. It's fun and it's energizing and it gets you through the day, whether you're having a bad or a good day.

Summertime, windows down. Pretty much sums it up.

Now, you guys have a new music video. Let's share with the fans what that's all about.

It's a fan that I mean, just loves our music but she's a little bit on the crazy side. She follows us through Twitter, everything we do she kind of just follows us and almost like a stalker. It's a fun video. It shows off the personalities that we have as a band.

So let's talk about the fact that you're premiering your video on actually the internet.

I think the internet has become one of the number one outlets for bands to get their name out there especially MySpace because anybody can go on MySpace and just like listen to the band. Right. It's a really easy way to like reach a massive amount of people if you do it right and if you're smart about it.

Whoa, what what do we got to here for the tattoo? Look at that. I think the uh Whoa, that's cool. Do you guys all have tattoos?

We all have one tattoo. He has it right there. It says Rage. This just kind of was a funny thing we came about when we do our little hands in before we play a set we just go Rage.

What else besides your little hand rage do you do to get fired up to play in front of a live crowd?

I just like to stretch before I go. Maybe drink a Red Bull or an Honesty or something like that. I like to do this one because it looks like I'm doing something cool. It makes me look like I'm important. I do this right before we play like popping up and down, you know, having a good time so. like a swimmer stretch, you know, you got to get loose.

Okay. Who are some of your musical influences?

My favorite band is Switchfoot and I like that kind of like the rock and then like the pop and the R&B. Well, I grew up listening to a lot of like punk. I had like a Mohawk for a while and I listened to a lot of heavy music, a lot of pop music, all kinds of stuff. Three main bands I listened to like going into high school was like New Found Glory, Saves the Day, and like Fall Out Boy. I grew up on Michael Bolton and Celine Dion and Willie Nelson, all that stuff. Just and Meat Loaf too, Meat Loaf was a big one. Just because the tape was stuck in my dad's truck and it we couldn't get it out. I listened to generally everything, you know from heavy stuff to really mellow stuff to punk, pop stuff.

So did you have a drummer that you looked up to?

I mean, Travis Barker, you know, he was the big drummer of our time. Thank you for hanging out with us, Young Hollywood. We are Racing Kites and we're going to go dance.
