We've actually done the tennis US Open and the golf US Open. So this is our third US Open. Our first surfing US Open.

I qualified. I just, I was knocked out in the first round. So

Are you serious, or are you joking? That's awesome. What are you gonna play tonight?

Uh, today we're gonna be playing a selection from our, uh, all three of our albums. I realize today as we played every single one of our songs during sound check that we have a lot of beach and sum summertime themed songs. Which is, works out for me. So convenient for me, sorry I just ate a bunch of chicken by the way. Which is so convenient for a day like today. It's just beach full and you know, and that's what these people want. They want to feel like they, you know, have sand in their ears. You know, they just these are all beach guys. All these dudes have awesome tans. A lot of beefcakes out there, a lot of babes, so all we're gonna do is try to bring the summer. So convenient.

Tell us what you guys have going on. Obviously, we're playing today at the US Open. What else is going on in your world?

Writing a new record. Working on a new record. Pretty much it, really. Hanging out. We have to, our first like, uh, before years, our first like real time off. Kind of. Still working, but still like, at home, hanging out.

You guys have had a very busy couple of years. What's the new album gonna sound like? Is it sound similar to the old one or?

Maybe it's too early to tell, you know. Um, but it'll definitely be a little beach influenced because we're writing it in the summer. I mean summer in New York isn't like summer out here, obviously. It's, um, it's a city.

Any cool collaborations we should look out for?

We're gonna get Donnis on this record. Uh, we like, we like to get rappers like before they blow up. Like we had B. O. B. on our last record. Yeah. B. O. B. No one even knows he was on our record. No one knows he was on our record because it's the last song. I think we're the first band to collaborate with B. O. B. But, I mean, yes.

Do you guys discover stars? Not only do you make music, you discover stars.

We are into make stars, actually, yeah. We are into astronomy. I found a new star, I named it. I named it Ryland, I named it after me.

Any dream collaboration?

Someone that we're all collectively huge fans of is, is Weezer. Maybe on this record cycle, or just in the future, we could collaborate with them.

You're the only lady of the band. How is it hanging out with these dudes all day long? Are you over it? It's very hard. They pick on you. How is it like? What's the dynamic?

I pick on them. Actually, we have a little thing, a little code word. Anytime I have a little bit of, uh, of hair in my nose, she'll tell me that, she'll tell me that my tie, she'll be like, your tie is crooked. And that's the code for and then I'm like I'll be like what about now? Like, we're tight like that. Like, and I can tell her when she's got a bear in her cave, or a little mail in her mailbox. She never has mail, right, Layla? It never happens, no. Yo, what's up, everybody? We are Cobra Starship hanging out here at, uh, at the beach where we're about to play a show for Hurley. We just wanna say what's up to all our fans. Even people that don't know about us. Let's do this again. I don't know what I'm talking about.
