Sick Puppies

Hey everyone, I'm Mark. Hey, I'm Emma. I'm Shim. We are Seek Puppies. We are on set at our video clip shoot for Odd One. As you can see, it's at a skate park. We've nearly been hit three times already by skaters just going around doing their thing. The reason we chose to shoot it in a skate park is because the story is of a girl who's a skater kid and a little love story with a skater boy, skater girl sort of thing going on. So we decided to just kind of be the house band for the setting.

Young Hollywood

You guys were talking about the concept of the video a little bit. We're here in the skate park. I know that there's yellow gloves. Or a rat.

Sick Puppies

Yeah. Possibly. There's two question marks that equal a heart. Yes. She has a curse, which is basically that her her hands she can't control it. It's like actually, I was telling a friend of mine last night. He says she's like Rogue from X-Men. Rogue can't touch anyone, remember? And, uh, and so she's got that thing where she touches anyone, they're they're done. And so she has this so she has to wear these kitchen gloves if she wants to do anything before she leaves the house. She's she's really reclusive. So she's the odd one in the clip. And, uh, there's this skater guy and she's hanging out trying to, you know, trying to be involved but she can't be and this guy, you know, takes a little shine to her and tries to get to know her. So she's very off, you know, very like, uh, stay away. But she tags, right? But the way she tags is with her hands because this leaves an imprint on the walls. So she makes a question mark, two two mirror image question marks, to make a heart shape. And that's her tag, that's her way of trying to leave something on the earth that she can be remembered by, which I thought was really cool.

Young Hollywood

Now, Emma, on this song, you actually sing some vocals, right?

Sick Puppies

Yes. It's been going good. It's kind of weird because I don't really sing much and, um, in this song I do. So it's like, oh, no, that's right. I have to sing because usually in videos I don't. So My world a little. But not really properly, not like a whole part.

Young Hollywood

Yeah. You guys met back in high school. And so one of my questions has to be, do you believe in things happening for a reason? Like, do you believe that if you went to Matt that day, that the band would have started and you would have found your buddy here on Craigslist? I know. What do you think?

Sick Puppies

Um, yeah, I've I think we've always been of the mind that it is it's always been meant to be because it's been so long and, um, we used to do this thing where we'd in our mind would imagine some something happening and those things happened and so, yeah, I guess I guess so.

Young Hollywood

And now are you an avid Craigslist user still to this day because it changed your fate forever?

Sick Puppies

Oh, man. I'm on there every day. You can find me in the, uh, casual encounters. Uh, no, I'm just kidding. It's been a long time coming. And the table's turn around 'Cause one of us is going. One of us is going down.

Young Hollywood

You came to LA because you kind of thought, you know, America kind of embraced, you know, the harder edged music a little more. And then with this last tour, you were in Australia. How did the fans kind of receive the music this time around and touring? Were you were you happy with how they were responding?

Sick Puppies

They're like, who the f are you? It was really good because it's literally the biggest show, like it's one of the biggest shows in the world and, uh, we got the show, we went back and we did our thing. They gave us 40 40 minutes on stage and being on that biggest in front of 10,000, 20,000 people a night. And everyone had heard heard of us and remembered us but they hadn't seen us for a long time 'cause we hadn't been back for so long. But once they once we actually came back, they were like, oh, yeah. You got to you got to jog their memories a little bit.

Young Hollywood

What was the coolest thing about touring with Nickelback?

Sick Puppies

The presence. They gave us no, I'm kidding. They didn't even thing is especially him and them, they were really good to us with everything about getting on stage, getting off stage, making sure that we had what we needed, lights, PA. Lots of things that people don't realize that goes on backstage, which can really screw up your show. And they were like, if anything's wrong, if nothing's going right, just tell us and we'll tell them and we'll make sure that you guys have got what you need for your show 'cause you want everyone to have a good time. Yeah. Yeah, they they're kind of they've been there and done that like they've been where we are. I mean, every band has but they're like at that level that next level and they can be dicks if they want to but they're cool. It's good because it really shows you how you want to treat like so far we've done a few headlining tours and we always treat the bands that support us in the same way because you want to just cycle it around. Speaking of which, before we go, there's a band called Resident Hero. You got to check out their record. Go to just Google it. Put it on MySpace, Resident Hero. They've got an excellent record out and that's one of the bands we were talking about taking out with us next time we go. Good day guys, we're Seek Puppies. Thank you very much for joining us on the set of Odd One. We're going to get back to work. I hope you guys like the clip. See you later.
