Welcome to younghollywood. com. What's up Young Hollywood? It's Michelle Marie. I am here with Chris, Doug, and Dan of Hoobastank. Now, the fourth album is out. So, I want to know what the meaning is behind your title Fornever.
Fornever is just a combination of forever and never because those two words expressed like such polar opposites. One second I can't live without you and the next second, I wanna smash your face in.
You guys just filmed a video for My Turn. And I know that you guys have this whole interactive video game like uh feel to the video. Can you tell us more about it?
There's two different versions. We filmed so many different takes of it in so many different outfits. So why can't I just make my turn today? Basically online you can kinda just pick and choose what we're going to be doing or wearing in the video.
What's your favorite look?
I look pretty damn good as a chick. I'll be honest. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So uh, when he was in his garb, like in his dress and stuff, it's gross but I literally like outta outta the corner of my eye like kinda saw somebody in a dress and looked over it and his back was turned to me like, I gave it a second look because I thought it was like a chick. And then I realized and I was I was uh pretty, I threw up in my mouth. That's good. I I worked hard to get that back. I had like a big huge sombrero on, I had cowboy boots on, like skin tight jeans, I had a big poncho on and then they drew a mustache on me.
And alternative rock scene has definitely changed from 2001 until now. How do you guys think it's changed since then? Things are just constantly changing, styles are changing. Of course, music is always changing. Are we going to see something different with this new album?
There's a certain uh like frantic energy that reminds some people of stuff we did in 2001, 2002.
The Reason, which was you know, one of your biggest hits. You guys went double platinum with that album and then you also had three Grammy nominations. All the success you guys have had over the years has been enormous. Now, where do you guys go from here?
You know if we can just continue to do this and and keep growing musically and and becoming tighter, you know, just as bros, you know, it's it's all good.
You guys have toured everywhere. Chris, I wanna know what was one of your interesting fan moments that you can tell us about?
This guy basically him and his girlfriend both crowd surf and like into the front, like drop off right in front of the stage. And he starts, he gets on his knees and proposes to her like right there. Yeah, he had to take his shirt off for some reason. He took his shirt off and then he and then he he he proposed to her.
If you guys can describe your band in one word, what would you say? And I want you guys to ponder about it before you say it.
Together like this and we just think real hard. Bitching. I know I know it's two words but it kinda if you say it fast, it's one word. Hey everybody, Young Hollywood. And even just Hollywood. Everybody. We don't discriminate. Old Hollywood as well. Because Young Hollywood isn't about age, it's about attitude. I heard that somewhere. Really? Young Hollywood too. You got anything else to say? Yeah, stop touching my genitals.
