Welcome to Younghollywood.com. Hey there Young Hollywood, I'm Tatiana Diane. We're hitting the beach with Rai Cummings on the set of his newest music video. So we've got our toes in the sand and we're on the set of your newest music video. So exciting.
It is really exciting. It's good to be here.
This is your first music video, right?
It is. It is my very, very first.
Tell us about the song.
Um, well, we shot we're shooting at the beach because it was a song I wrote, um, that moving to uh, kind of Santa Monica. Can love lost and love gained. Um, really kind of personal song for me, so I'm really excited to do a video for that.
Yeah. Tell us about the love that you've lost and the love that you
Well, you clearly gained me today.
Yes, I did.
Well, besides that. Um, you know, I think kind of life has its journeys it throws things at you and uh, you know, I moved over to um, LA with a girlfriend of mine from Australia. And uh we lived in a little place in Santa Monica together, um just down the coast from here and and uh, you know, it was one of those things. You just drift apart sometimes. It's very natural but This song I guess for me was a song about release just letting go. You know, I really love Chris Isaac's Wicked Game. It's a video um with him and Helena Christensen on the beach and I kind of wanted to pay homage to that and uh, you know, song is almost 20 years old now but it's such an incredible kind of video, so I wanted to do something really similar just kind of a story about um, you know, being lost in love on the beach.
Kind of reminding your two loves today while you're on the set of your music video because I heard you're a surfer.
Uh born and bred. Yeah, since I was about three years old. So, I mean I grew up on the ocean six hours a day in the water, so, you know, when it comes down to videos and stuff for me, it was always about doing it on the coast, you know, being near the salt.
Are we going to see you surf in this music video and your leather jacket?
Who knows? You know, I kind of I live in this jacket. I wear it every day of my life.
I would live in that. I like it. Can I have it?
Trouble. I'm trouble.
What is your overall sound if for somebody who's never heard your music before? What do you sound like?
Um, you know, I've had a lot of different influences, you know, from Motown all the way through to Jeff Buckley, so I think it's just kind of a combination of growing up on the coast and, you know, and then living in some rock and roll cities, a little bit of rock and roll, a little bit of the beach and then, you know, this really intimate kind of stuff.
And is the rest of your album kind of sound like this song or is there a little bit of a variety?
No, I mean, this song's a really quiet song. It's a really kind of very, very personal song. The rest of the album, um or half the album is pretty rock and roll. It's all all live band, full band stuff. So it's nice to have both. Nice to have a bit of a rock and roll set and then uh, you know, kind of break it down and just pick up your guitar and play a solo song.
Okay, so how can we stay in touch? How can all your fans who are clearly obsessed with you? How can they find you?
You can come and hang out with me in Malibu every day.
Besides stalking you on the rocks? Where can they follow you on Twitter?
Um, you know what? I don't Twitter. I don't do it.
Do you want to go and sit on a rock and set up a Twitter account with me right now? I'll do it.
I could do it, but that might be weird.
I'll set it up. I'll be your Twitter manager. I believe it. You know I You need to set up a Twitter. Just tweet about your concerts.
I should. That's a really good idea. I will do that.
Ray coming Twitter. I think there is one. There is.
Oh yeah. There's a Ray coming Twitter. I just haven't been on it. Yeah. I'm going to get I'm going to get on it.
Hey, thanks for hanging out. It's Ray coming on the set of Always Remember Me. Have an awesome day.
Pretty eyes, long hair, smooth so sweet, like summer in the air. Watch me as I fall. Into the water calling. Watch me as I sink. And on the beach and Santa Monica.
