Hi Young Hollywood, I'm Miriam and I'm here with famed swimsuit designer Melissa Odabash.

And you're primarily known for your bathing suits and beachwear.

How did you make the transition into ready to wear?

I was a swimwear model, so I've been doing swimwear for years.

Two years ago I was like, okay, now what about nighttime after the beach?

So I decided to go into ready to wear.

Tell us about your ready-to-wear collection.

I'm launching it here in California.

I just arrived yesterday from London.

Everyone's loving it, so it's fantastic.

You have a huge celebrity following.

What are some of the big names that wear your clothing?

Demi Moore, Cameron Diaz, Cindy Crawford, Jennifer Aniston, a bit of everyone.

What are some of the mistakes women make when they shop for the perfect bathing suit and what advice can you give them?

People think to go always bigger, one size bigger than they really are, so I always say to go one size smaller.

People think that, you know, to hide myself, I'll go get the next size up, but instead, it's actually adding more fabric, so it makes you look double the size, so I always say go down a size.

If you're self-conscious, just because when you're walking down the beach, you're only going to see the fabric.

That much fabric, you're going to look that much smaller.

What are some of the key trends in terms of swimwear for resort this season?

A lot of like lightweight fabrics.

I think people realize like they don't want the heavy caftans anymore, so everything is much more like silk, but, you know, without, without shoulders, without, you know, sleeveless and bandeau styles.

They seem to be selling a lot faster, anything like cotton.

So lightweight fabrics are selling great.

In terms of packing, what are the key pieces to bring?

Well, there's a trick.

Always pack a swimsuit in your handbag in case your luggage gets lost.

You can at least wait at the beach.

Oh, that's smart.

Yeah, you can never find a swimsuit when you're on vacation.

So always put one in your suitcase, one, one in your hand luggage, so in case it does get lost, you can still hang out at the beach and wait for your luggage to arrive.

And also, if it is wet, always put it in a plastic bag and only wash with soap and water.

That's it.

Never in the washing machine because it does lose the elasticity.
