Welcome to younghollywood. com. Hi Young Hollywood, I'm Miriam and I'm here at the Jimmy Choo store in Beverly Hills with its founder and president Tamara Mellon.

Tamara, how did you launch your company?

Well, I started the company in 1996, really because I couldn't find the things that I wanted to wear. I wanted to wear cool things that had an edge, had a sense of fun, using interesting colors and hardware.

Jimmy Choo definitely has a celebrity following, definitely an A-list brand. We're so lucky that it's so rewarding when I see my product out and about. You know, Young Hollywood has really taken Jimmy Choo under its wing. I definitely see a rock and roll influence with the collection, with the studs and the animal prints. Uh, what are some of your inspirations and tell us more about the collection?

My inspiration for Autumn/Winter was, it's all about Debbie Harry. I became obsessed with Debbie Harry. So it's about being um, a rock chick and it's about chic punk.

What piece if you can show us in the store, do you think Debbie Harry would want?

She would have put this, I mean look, even if we put it against a black dress that you have in your closet, it makes it look modern and the whole outfit pops. So fuchsia pink and yellow leopard prints are great. And these go with jeans, with black leather leggings, with your favorite little black dress.

What are some of the best investment pieces you'd recommend for fall? If you were going to buy one pair of shoes or one bag, what would you recommend?

If you want a big day bag as an investment piece for this fall, this one is called Odette, and it's our new one with the electric blue leopard print. And I love the hardware. It makes it very rock and roll, very edgy. If you buy anything this fall, it has to be an over-the-knee leather boot.

And what's the best way to wear it?

I would wear this over tight black skinny jeans or or even dark denim blue jeans or leather leggings with a white T-shirt and that slouchy black blazer. That's the look you want to go for. This clutch to me epitomizes what the Jimmy Choo brand is about. It's taking a traditional clutch and lace and then making it rock and roll and edgy. That's exactly what we've done. We've got a classic evening shape, which is just a little clutch, but then putting the lace and the studs together makes it very edgy.
