FASHION FRIDAY: Wedding Dress Edition!

Hey guys, Nikki Novak here hanging out in the Young Hollywood Studio and on this episode of Fashion Friday, we are talking brides. Now, there's three major looks that are happening right now in the bridal world. The first look is color. Now, this is not for the faint of heart or the traditional bride, but designers have been showing colored wedding dresses on the runway like crazy. Jessica Biel turned the wedding world upside down when she married Justin Timberlake in pink. Amber Tamblyn wore yellow to marry David Cross. Is this something that we're going to be seeing a lot more of? I hope so.

So, let's talk about what some of the designers have been showing in brides on the runway this season. Vera Wang went full goth. She showed brides in black, burgundy and red. Oscar de la Renta went a little bit softer. He used hues of baby blue. Marchesa also kept it soft. She went into the nudey peachy tones. And Zuhair Murad went full on. It was all about color. Okay, so if you're not ready to go crazy and wear hot pink to your wedding, the second look that's really popular right now is the traditional look. And I'm talking the conservative end of the traditional look. Kate Middleton kicked this off a few years ago when she married her prince in a lacy Alexander McQueen dress.

It was very conservative, very covered up. Anne Hathaway also wore a really romantic Valentino gown. So, if you're looking for this look, Monique Lhuillier is somebody that has always mastered the art of the traditional bride. Now, if you're feeling a little flirty and you want to wow your groom, and you've got the sticks for it, short wedding dresses are also happening for spring, summer. The Mulleavy sisters custom designed Natalie Portman's Rodarte dress. It was around knee length, but very, very sassy. So, if you're ready to show a little leg at your wedding, again, Monique Lhuillier and also Amsale are two designers that both offer lace and embroidered short dresses. Woo!
