Christian Audigier

The man of the hour is Christian Audigier. He's even got a choir singing for him. This is the second show of the week, and we're very excited to see it. He calls it street couture. Welcome to young Hollywood. I'm standing here with literally one of the hottest dudes the past 15, 20 years I've seen. Oh. Yeah, I've seen him without shirts, with shirts, I've seen him every way. But I see him right now, he's looking happy. I've always been a big fan of his work ever since he did Von Dutch, and Ed Hardy, and I always said he really should have his own line. He's so talented, you know, he does great, funky, fun stuff. So I'm looking forward to the show. Now, this is a man who needs introducing. This is John Stapleton, the Senior Creative Artist for MAC makeup. Let's have a talk and see what he's doing for the Christian Audigier show.

Well, we did a very mod look. It's uh, sort of mod inspired, really. Uh, a lot of cream liner, silver eyelid, uh, nude, sort of lip. So we're kind of taking some of the things that we've been seeing on the runways in Europe and New York with the nude lip, but we sort of did a spin on it with this silver eyelid, because we wanted to add a little bit of fun. A little bit of pizazz to it. A little bit of sexiness.

A little bit sexy. Yeah, I could use some sexiness. Maybe you can put some silver on me.

I think you've got enough sexy going on right now. I don't know, I don't want to overdo it.

Oh, I definitely did. Ow, ow, ow! Wait, can you wait until I'm done, really quick? So Caroline, you are literally have been the one to watch for the past few seasons.

And so what is this show uh why?

You know what? I'm just excited because it's not, don't get me wrong, I have fun doing all the like amazing like high fashion, like, you know, yesterday I did Joey Tierney, which is really nice, and Haven Valley, which is all very elegant and beautiful. But this is a bit more like rocker, kinda fun. I'll get to have a little bit more fun with the crowd and stuff. So, I always like to, like, you know, do some shows that are kind of pumped up as well.

The collection is based on the fusion of rap and rock and roll. That was very important for me, some bling bling too, and the stuff that I love, you know.

And this is your, this is your couture line if there's your your bigger line, let's say, uh for sportswear. Let's call that the street couture line. So, how how does, how much does it really differ? I mean, I see that you've got some incredible leather coats there, and and what not. What are you pulling into this line that's not in the regular line?

What I put on this line, first, is my love, you know, is my name means I put uh maybe uh a much love in it, and I have a lot of people helping me to doing that too. A lot of retailers, a lot of friends too. Uh to doing that. And I believe what you're gonna see tonight is something that you you you you are not waiting for. It's something completely different than Ed Hardy again. Ed Hardy is based on tattoo and graphic, and this line is based on the on the beauty of product with a lot of detail on it.

All right, well, this is the fabulous Sean James, who I've had the pleasure of working with. Now, tell me, what are you doing? What's the look for tonight?

Well, the look tonight is influenced by a Barbie doll.

Wow.

Yeah. So, um, we want the girls all to have that big, fluffy, sexy Barbie doll hair, you know, super glossy, um, you know, just straight like a dolly.

What about Skipper? Do you have any Skippers on board?

We have a Skipper. Um, Skipper's actually right next to her. And if you look down here, we've got like the big Barbie and then the Skipper look. They're real doll. Um, and, you know, these what we're using is the girls are using wigs. Christian Audigier is like a really good friend, a dope, dope, you know, designer. I love his stuff, so you know.

You wear it on weekends? Now, check these shoes out, man. Oh man. Oh, these are the new ones. Those are the hot new shits, man. That's hot. Oh, I'm digging it. All right, you got the shoes. Have you seen the leather coats? There's coats. No. You know, and Christian, you know you're gonna have to break me off with the leather coat. What's up? What's the leather coat look like?

Oh man, it's gold, and it's got like, you know, embellishments everywhere.

What? Oh, come on, you're holding out on me, man. What's up? You just came from Christian's show. What'd you think?

You know, I I'm always blatantly honest. Um, I think that uh the show was very very refreshing. It reminded me of not to put anything "school like blah-zay blah-zay." It reminds me of of two designers: Versace and Gucci.
