'Spider-Man: No Way Home' Trailer Opens The Multiverse of All Spidey Movies!
When Tom Holland said we weren’t ready for this trailer, he really meant it. We were NOT prepared for all of the action presented in those three tiny minutes. The third installment of Holland’s standalone Spider-Man MCU films is No Way Home, and after months of teasing and speculation, the teaser trailer has caused an absolute frenzy among the MCU fans (myself included). We are breaking down what we know about the movie so far based on the trailer, and the key elements of why this movie is going to be so huge. Hang tight to your spidey webs because there is a ton to unpack here.
It wouldn’t be a Marvel trailer drop without tons of easter eggs and epic reveals. While we only got three short minutes (I would like to personally request much more), there is still a good deal of things to discuss about this trailer! As we know, the last time we saw Peter Parker was in 2019 when Mysterio revealed Peter’s true identity to the world as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Not cool, Mysterio. Now, Peter is teaming up with a very chill Doctor Strange to help relieve some of the backlash he’s getting from the world.

Doctor Strange assures Peter there is a spell he can use to erase everyone’s memories of ever knowing Spider-Man’s true identity. This seems sort of off-book for Strange, but at the same time anything is possible when dealing with Strange’s magic. Peter immediately starts to regret the idea, but not quickly enough. Enter: A very complicated Multiverse. This isn’t a completely new concept, as we got a taste of it in Marvel’s Disney+ series "WandaVision" and "Loki". This does seem to be a much grander scale we are working with, though, which isn’t the best news for Peter or Strange, seeing as how we now have multiple villains crawling around.
Things go south pretty darn fast, and before you know it, we see glimpses or clues for Green Goblin, Electro, Sandman, The Lizard, and, of course, a real look at Doctor Octopus. Alfred Molina is back as Doc Ock for the first time since Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man 2, and many fans are speculating that, along with the gaggle of villains that have been let into this universe, that the other movie Spideys (Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield) could also potentially make an appearance.

Between the evil Green Goblin cackle, the mystery box that Peter and Strange seem to argue over, and all of the many many references to the other Spider-Man films... we are on the edge of our seats! The internet basically broke over this trailer and fans are anxiously waiting to see how the madness unfolds and correlates with the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness film set to release early next year. I guess we'll just have to wait until December 17th to see!
