Sia & Maddie Team Up For Most Haunting Video Yet, "The Greatest"

What a treat, to return to work the morning after a long weekend to see the news that Sia has released a new single – AND a new music video, featuring another brilliant performance by her avatar, Maddie Ziegler!

Yes, folks, gather round, for yet another collaboration between the singer/songwriter and young dancer is upon us! Having already starred in four previous music videos for Sia (“Chandelier”, “Elastic Heart”, “Big Girls Cry”, “Cheap Thrills”), Maddie returns once more to convey Sia’s message through dance and facial expressions.

In the new video, “The Greatest” (ft. Kendrick Lamar), we see Maddie in her darkest performance yet – literally. Having gone from the platinum blonde bob to a half-blonde/half-black one in the previous video, she is now all-black, and even sports a darker-colored leotard, and for a rather harrowing reason. You see, the video is tribute to the 49 victims of the Pulse Nightclub massacre in Orlando in June -- with rainbows staining both her cheeks, Maddie attempts, in vain, to lead 49 other dancing young people trapped in a dilapidated building to some form of escape. The video ends with a tableau of all the dancers collapsed on the floor, spinning club lights around them.

Sia, along with Maddie, will soon be hitting the road for the Nostalgic For The Present Tour, kicking off on September 29 and stopping in 22 cities across North America.
