10 Amazing Throwback Music Videos To Revist During Quarantine!

Remember the good ol’ days when we would’ve cherished this extra time for self-care, napping, and five-star meals outside our piling schoolwork, demanding jobs, and crazy families? Oh, of course you remember -- because it was last week. 

Well, now we’ve got all the time in the world it seems! Most Americans are currently under quarantine (many left unemployed) and have been directed to not leave their homes unless it’s absolutely essential. And now that Los Angeles is on Day 12, we think we speak for the majority when we say we never anticipated quite THIS much free time; certainly not all at once. But hey, things could be worse, right?

If you’re already sick at the thought of bingeing another show on Netflix or watching A-list celebs chatting each other up over Instagram Live, music videos have been our best friend; telling stories and sparking every single emotion we’ve ever felt (yup, there’s time for that too).

Here are some of our favorites!

1.“Hey Ya” by Outkast

When “Hey Ya” came out in 2003, not only could we not stop listening, we couldn’t stop watching!

A decade-and-a-half later, and we still feel the same. And plus, what’s more iconic than Andre 3000’s straight hair? Which currently looks way better than our quarantine hair, by the way.

2. “Say My Name” by Destiny’s Child

And the award for the Most Colorful Music Video of All Time goes to: “Say My Name” by Destiny’s Child.

We literally used to pretend we were the fifth honorary member in this group, freeze frames in the mirror and all. And the truth is -- we kinda still do!

3. "Yo" by Chris Brown

We wish Chris Brown chased us up and down the streets trying to get our attention when we were 16.

That voice, those moves; we say baby girl handled it pretty well because we would’ve passed out for sure.

4. "I’m a Slave 4 U" by Britney Spears

The “I’m a Slave 4 U” music video is just a cute little 3-minute reminder that Britney was the best pop singer to do it in the early-2000s. Don’t @ us.

5. "Sorry" by Justin Bieber

Okay, so we know your goal is to stare at Justin Bieber and all his gorgeousness (and gosh, that bouncy throwback hair) when he puts out a video, but let’s embrace all the bomb female dancers that stole the show for “Sorry”.

We tried to learn the moves — we couldn’t. So we shall just watch… over and over again.

6. "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus

Are we the only ones who stare deeply into Miley’s bright, oceanic eyes and feel every bit of pain she transmits into our tarnished souls?

And the next thing you know, she’s crying naked on a wrecking ball. Very relatable for us during the quarantine right now.

7. "We Found Love" by Rihanna

“We Found Love” is one of the most chaotically emotional music videos we’ve ever seen.

It’s beautiful, fun, violent, passionate, numb, and addictive. But you just can’t take your eyes off it.

8. "Mine" by Taylor Swift

This one goes down as one of our favorite videos of all time from the Taylor Swift.

The veteran songwriter brought this love story to life almost exactly as we had imagined it in our heads before we ever saw a thing. And we cry EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

9. "Since You Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson

Step 1: Break into ex’s apartment.

Step 2: Dig through his things.

Step 3: Trash everything.

This break-up song always get us in a mood. Add it to your video playlist and save it for later, kids. Trust us, you’ll need it.

10. "Yo Side of the Bed" by Trey Songz

If you haven’t seen this video, please prepare yourself.

“Yo Side of the Bed” is one of the saddest music videos (if not the saddest) we’ve ever seen. And what makes it so special is that you never even expect it.
