7. "Freakshow" (Season 4)
The idea behind this one was good -- a circus in the 1950s and a bunch of oddities -- but the delivery just fell flat. The most creepy of all its storylines besides Twisty, the killer clown, was Dandy Mott (Finn Wittrock). But overall, his character borders on annoying rather than frightening. This season drags on, and it feels like each episode is about a 2-hour long movie (plus the location was a bit off), but it did gain the most Emmy nominations!
