5 Times "Love Is Blind" Restored Faith In Love!

Written by Andi Ortiz. Published: March 13 2020

“Love Is Blind” is a hot mess.

There’s really no getting around it. The new Netflix series is one of those shows that you start watching, knowing you’re probably going to judge every second of it, and yet you binge all the episodes in three days. (For me and my friends, it was two days. We’ll own it).

If you haven’t seen it yet – well, where have you been? But allow me to sum it up for you, Stefon style.

This show has everything. There’s getting engaged to virtual strangers through a wall. There’s drink-throwing. There’s a dog drinking wine. And there’s surprise break-ups at the altar.

Told you: hot mess.

But here’s the thing. For all its craziness, “Love Is Blind” still had some truly adorable moments that actually restored our faith in love a bit.

Here are five of our favorites!

1. Lauren & Cameron’s WHOLE Relationship

Personally, Cameron was a bit intense for me from the get-go. But he and Lauren quickly became a fan favorite couple on the show, and they 100% should be.

They got engaged quickest of all the couples and really didn’t have any problems at all. Lauren was honest when she started getting jittery, and Cameron always managed to say the right things at the right time.

Lauren and Cameron were also one of just two couples that actually made it to “I do.” Now, a year-and-a-half later, the Hamiltons are still going strong and starting their own YouTube series!

For them, love truly was blind.

2. Giannina Proposing to Damian

Giannina and Damian’s relationship was one of the rougher ones in the show. But it started out super cute and flipped gender roles on their head.

When it came time for a proposal, Damian got down on one knee and emotionally asked for forever with Giannina. For a moment, it looked like she might say no, as she told Damian to stand back up.

Instead, she got down on her knees and proposed to him, explaining how she doesn’t believe in normal roles or labels.

It was a beautiful moment, but also an empowering one for women everywhere.

3. Giannina and Damian’s Reunion

Unfortunately, Giannina and Damian didn’t make it past the altar. While Giannina finally went all in on the relationship, Damian said no, citing her hot-and-cold actions toward him.

It was BRUTAL. After the dust had settled a bit, though, Giannina returned to talk through it all with Damian.

She held nothing back and it… didn’t go great.

Don’t worry, though! Giannina and Damian are back together today and giving things a real shot! They’re communicating with each other and really making an honest effort to work past the insane reality that was the show.

That’s what a real couple does. They try everything they can to make it work. Fingers crossed it sticks this time!

4. Kenny. Just Kenny.

If Lauren and Cameron were the gold standard of “Love Is Blind”, then Kenny and Kelly were the silver standard. Maybe the bronze standard, considering how everything panned out.

These two seemed perfect for each other – until Kelly revealed that she never made it to the point of being IN love with Kenny. But let’s just talk about Kenny for a second.

This dude was nothing but respectful the whole time. When Kelly didn’t want to be intimate with him, he accepted the decision and didn’t push it. When he met Kelly’s family, and brought his own parents in, it couldn’t have gone better.

And then Kelly left him at the altar, and you know what he did? He gave a GRACEFUL speech to all of their family and friends. Telling the cameramen to stop filming and back off on the questions was probably the most heated Kenny got all season.

Sadly/happily, Kenny is in a new relationship now. But please oh please let there be more Kennys in the world.

5. Amber and Barnett, Post-Vows

If I’m being honest, I wasn’t particularly a fan of Barnett and Amber. He didn’t seem to have a clear idea of what he wanted, and she seemed to be holding onto him with a vice-like grip. It was just a little cringey.

Still, there were some good moments in their wedding – like the cake smash.

And now that they’ve been married for almost two years? They’re actually pretty cute together.

Their Instagram feeds are full of their travels and it looks like it’s been a blast.

They’re kind of the perfect example of “there’s someone for everyone.” You just have to find YOUR someone!
