4 Great Celebrity Memoirs to Help You Manage Stress & Anxiety!
We all get overwhelmed from time to time — or if you’re me, it’s all the time. It’s hard to find things that make you feel better when you’re feeling anxious. Sometimes watching a funny show or movie can help, sometimes it’s listening to music or a podcast. But often the best way to feel better is to unplug a bit and read a good book.
Books that are engaging can take your mind off things and let you get immersed in another world and help you forget about your own stress. Memoirs especially function as the perfect relaxation tool for me, as reading someone inspiring tell you about their life and their perspective on things is uniquely engaging!
So here are some of my recommendations for engaging memoirs that will keep you entertained, informed, and help you manage your stress during this or any other difficult time!
1. Bossypants by Tina Fey
This book is a classic that I’ve
reread many times because it really never gets
old. Tina Fey talks about her life and
career and shares a ton of great stories with her trademark humor
and wit that’s guaranteed to have you laughing!
2. Yes We (Still) Can by Dan Pfeiffer
This memoir by former Senior Advisor
to President Obama for Strategy and Communications Dan Pfieffer is an inspiring and funny look at the
life of someone with an admirable and insane career that’s
guaranteed to brighten your mood!
3. Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher
Carrie Fisher is one
of my (and many others’) greatest heroes. Her candid
nature, sense of humor, and willingness to speak about her faults
and mental illness in order to reduce the stigma for others are all
things that made her great and are what make this book so great!
It’s full of her old diaries from when she worked on Star
Wars and all the behind-the-scenes information and funny
stories are sure to get you feeling better!
4. Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling
Mindy Kaling offers a lot of funny stories about her life and career in this great book. Her voice is incredibly strong and guaranteed to pull you in and make you laugh like crazy!
