Written by Adriana Darcy. Published: February 14 2020

Valentine’s Day is all about love, and what better way is there to express your love than through music?

There are so many beautiful love songs out there, how do you know which ones are the best for your Valentine’s Day 2020 playlist?

Whether you need some background music to set the mood for your perfect date, you want to make a playlist to show that special someone you love them, or you just really love love songs, here are ten songs by some of our favorite artists to add to your Valentine’s Day playlist!

1. "Finally // Beautiful Stranger" by Halsey

This is one of my all-time favorite love songs, from the woman who calls herself “Bad at Love”

"Finally // Beautiful Stranger" is so soft and sweet, it shows the beauty and the fears of falling in love.

Favorite Line: "I've never seen a mouth that I would kill to kiss / And I'm terrified, but the truth is this..."

2. "10,000 Hours" by Dan + Shay feat. Justin Bieber

This is currently one of my favorite songs!

It’s so sweet and so well written. Is it possible to listen to this song and not think about the person you love?

Favorite Line: "And I might never get there, but I'm gonna try / If it's ten thousand hours or the rest of my life / I'm gonna love you..."

3. "Paper Rings" by Taylor Swift

I couldn’t leave the queen of love songs off of this list!

"Paper Rings" is the perfect song for being in love. It’s all about being so in love you’d get married with paper rings. It’s about a crazy fun love that lasts through it all.

Favorite Line: "I want to drive away with you / I want your complications too / I want your dreary Mondays / Wrap your arms around me, baby boy..."

4. "Dream of You" by Camila Cabello

This soft and beautiful love song appreciates all of the little things about another person in a relationship.

"Dream of You" is about being so in love, so caught up in another person, all you can do is think of them and dream of them.

Favorite Line: "And you squeeze my hands two times, three times / And believe me, I'll love you always, always..."

5. "Comfortable" by H.E.R.

This was the first song I discovered by H.E.R. and it’s quickly become one of my favorite songs!

It’s soft and slow and the perfect song to listen to with the person you love. This song is all about being comfortable around your partner.

Favorite Line: "'Cause I feel so comfortable with you / You make me comfortable with you..."

6. "Get Me" by Justin Beiber feat. Kehlani

"Get Me" is all about two people being perfect for each other without expecting it.

It’s a cute and carefree song showing love's beginning.

Favorite Line: "Ooh, there's so much chemistry / Like a chemist, how you finishin' my sentences..."

7. "Calling on Me" by Sean Paul and Tove Lo

This song is fun and sweet. "Calling on Me" is all about giving your all to your partner, being there for them when they need you.

Favorite Line: "True love never fail, love never fall / Real love conquers all..."

8. "What a Man Gotta Do" by Jonas Brothers

This is a cute song about doing whatever it takes to be with the girl you love.

This fast-paced song will send you back to the early-2000s (as all Jonas Brother songs do) and have you falling in love.

Favorite Line: "I'm not tryin' to be your part-time lover / Sign me up for the full-time, I'm yours, all yours..."

9. "1950" by King Princess

This list wouldn’t be complete without some LGBTQ+ representation, and this is the perfect wlw love song!

It’s such an innocent song about being in love and the fears of losing that love.

Favorite Line: "I hope that you're happy with me in your life / I hope that you won't slip away in the night..."

10. "Love Myself" by Hailee Steinfeld

I also couldn’t make this list without at least one song about self-love, and Hailee Steinfeld’s "Love Myself" is the perfect fit.

This song is so strong and empowering, it’s all about being independent and loving yourself.

Favorite Line: "Gonna love myself, no, I don't need anybody else (I love me!)..."
