Shia LaBeouf in legal war with uncle
Shia Labeouf is embroiled in a messy legal war with his uncle, who has allegedly reneged on a deal to pay back a $800,000 loan.
The Transformers star and his mother Shayna Saide filed suit against Barry Saide earlier this year (13), claiming he had failed to pay back any of the cash his movie star nephew had loaned him.
On Thursday (01Aug13), Saide hit back at the claims, filing his own
suit at Manhattan Supreme Court in New York City, alleging his
relatives are trying to bankrupt him, despite the fact he allegedly
helped them before LaBeouf made it big.
In the affidavit, Saide writes, "Had I thought that Shayne and Shia
would take this extraordinary step and seek to impoverish me, I
never would have borrowed a dollar from Shia... Prior to Shia's
ascendancy to film stardom... (I loaned) hundreds of thousands of
dollars to assist in the support of Shayne and Shia."
In his suit, LaBeouf claims his uncle agreed to pay the cash back
in 15 installments, beginning in January, 2011, and ending in
April, 2012. He is seeking for the loan to be paid back in full,
along with $39,999 in interest.
