Shailene Woodley offers up poetic statement following arrest
Actress Shailene Woodley has broken her silence following her arrest on Monday (10Oct16).
The Divergent star was charged with criminal trespassing after protesting a controversial pipeline in North Dakota and led away by police in footage streamed live on Facebook, but she returned to social media following her release on Tuesday (11Oct16) to continue her protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline.
"One day, baby, we'll sing our poetry. the words dripping from our
tongues wet with ripened patience," the 24-year-old actress wrote
on Instagram. "And the lyrics, the sweet fruits born from the seeds
our aging hands are now sowing. #alwaysinallways #heartforward
#uptous #NoDAPL #protectcleanwater #iamonyourside."
Monday's peaceful protest followed a federal judge's ruling on
Sunday that rejected the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe's request to
halt construction on the pipeline.
Woodley was one of many protesters arrested.
