Rupert Grint gets mistaken for Ed Sheeran

Harry Potter star Rupert Grint has revealed fans often confuse him for British singer Ed Sheeran because of their striking resemblance.

The actor, who landed a starring role in Sheeran's 2011 music video for Lego House, insists his red hair has often led to fans believing he is the pop singer.

The Brit also claims several celebrities have made the same mistake, including 1970s pop star Leo Sayer.

When asked by The Sunday Times Magazine if there has ever been a mix-up, Grint says "Yes of course, a lot. People get confused all the time. One time I was at this Formula One race and Leo Sayer was there. There was definitely a kind of confusion because he came up to me and said how much he liked my music."

Grint, however, was happy to pretend he was Sheeran to avoid embarrassment, adding, "He was so convinced I was Ed, I just played along."
