Prince Harry makes 1,700 mile detour to see Meghan Markle - report
Prince Harry was reportedly so desperate to see girlfriend Meghan Markle after his Caribbean tour he took a 1,700-mile detour to Canada.
The 32-year-old British royal has been kept busy for the past fortnight visiting seven islands in the Caribbean. So when the tour came to an end, Harry is said to have decided to swap his scheduled flight from Barbados to London, England, on Sunday (04Dec16) for one to North America.
According to Britain's The Sun newspaper, Harry arrived in the
country on Sunday evening and was seen at her home in Toronto on
Monday (05Dec16).
"Harry just couldn’t wait to see her," a friend told the
publication. "He was due to fly back to London on a British Airways
flight with the rest of his entourage.
“But he changed his mind and diverted straight to see her as they
couldn’t bear to be apart. It’s just another sign of how
head-over-heels he is about her. He is absolutely besotted. We’ve
never seen him so happy - it’s great."
However, it is likely to be just a quick pitstop as Harry has an
official commitment in England on Wednesday (07Dec16).
Suits star Meghan, 35, was seen over the weekend (03-04Dec16) at a
grocery store, presumably stocking up on supplies before Harry's
visit.
They last saw each other three weeks ago, when Meghan jetted into
London and stayed at Harry's Kensington Palace abode Nottingham
Cottage for nearly a week.
It was during Meghan's trip to London that Harry made the
unprecedented move of releasing a statement asking for privacy and
slamming the press for hounding the actress following news of their
romance hitting headlines.
"It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him
that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm," the
statement, issued by Harry's communications secretary read. "He
knows commentators will say this is 'the price she has to pay' and
that 'this is all part of the game'. He strongly disagrees. This is
not a game - it is her life and his."
