Nicole Scherzinger 'so excited' for X Factor comeback

Nicole Scherzinger is going to have a lot of fun on The X Factor this year.

The 37-year-old singer is returning to the panel of the ITV talent show for the 2016 series, alongside judges Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh. Speaking to Good Morning Britain on Friday (03Jun16), Nicole admits she is looking forward to returning to the programme, and to London.

"I'm so excited. I miss England, I haven't been there in a while," she smiled. "It's my second home and I'm happy to be with Sharon and Louis, I haven't seen them for a while, and Simon of course."

Asked what fans can expect from her appearance on the show this year, Nicole replied: "I think we're just going to have a lot of fun this year."

Nicole appeared as a judge on The X Factor in 2012 and 2013 and won over fans with her unique sense of humour and ability to make up words such as "Shamazing" and "Shamazeballs".

But she's unsure whether or not she will be able to live up to expectations by adding to her special dictionary on this year's series, laughing: "You got me on the spot!" when asked if she had any more unique vocabulary up her sleeve.

Nicole also spoke about the film she has recorded to be aired as part of Soccer Aid, which will be shown on ITV on Sunday (05Jun16). She travelled to Kenya with Unicef, and reveals the experience had a "profound effect' on her.

"I recently took a trip to Kenya, to Nairobi, it was my first trip there and I got to see first-hand what it was like for children who live on the streets and who work on the streets there and I have to say it was probably the most emotional trip I've ever been on, of my trips with Unicef," she explained. "The children there really made such a profound impact on me - I met one child in particular, his name was George, and he was really special, just like all the children there - they are like little angels. And I just encourage everybody to tune in and donate because you can really make a difference and these children count. I'm just trying to be a voice for them."
