Nicki Minaj: 'Taylor Swift called me to apologise for VMAs feud'
Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift buried the hatchet over their MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) feud in a lengthy phone call on Thursday (23Jul15).
The pop stars became embroiled in a row on Twitter.com this week (beg20Jul15) after the VMA nominations were announced and Minaj took issue with her Anaconda promo being missed from the Video of the Year list.
She blamed the snub on her body type, insisting only videos which
celebrate "women with very slim bodies" get awards, and Swift
believed the message was a swipe at her so she lashed out at the
Starships hitmaker.
However, Swift apologised to Minaj on social media on Thursday
(23Jul15), admitting, "I missed the point, I misunderstood, then
misspoke" and the rapper has now revealed she also received a phone
call from Swift to settle the issue.
During an appearance on breakfast show Good Morning America on
Friday, she says, "I spoke to Taylor Swift yesterday on the phone.
She was super, super sweet and she apologised. She said, 'Look, you
know I didn't understand the big picture of what you were saying,
but now I get it', so we're all good.
"It takes a big person to do what Taylor did and everyone sometimes
speaks out of turn, I've been there, sometimes we do things we
don't think right away or we don't investigate and then we just
talk so it was big of her to come out and say that. So yes, we
spoke for a long time, we were cracking up laughing on the phone.
It's over... and I love you guys (fans) for supporting me!"
