Lady Gaga too ill for Montreal, cancels show
Lady Gaga canceled her Monday night (04Sep17) concert in Montreal, Canada, due to illness.
The singer took to Twitter late on Monday to announce the news to fans, explaining she had fallen sick after performing in the rain in New York last month (Aug17).
"I couldn’t be more devastated that I am unable to perform tonight," the Poker Face singer said. "I sing this entire show live, and pride myself in giving it all, but when I sang in the rain at Citi Field I got sick and have been pushing through.
"I am so sorry to anyone who had their heart set on seeing me tonight. I love you."
Gaga attempted to make it up to fans waiting outside her hotel, sending them pizza.
She tweeted: "I'm sending free (pizza emoji) to any monsters (fans) outside my hotel The William Gray Montreal. I love u so much & I'm so sorry u are the most loyal fans."
A statement from Live Nation reads: "Unfortunately tonight’s Lady Gaga Joanne World Tour Concert has been postponed. Hoping not to disappoint her fans, Lady Gaga took today to rest but unfortunately, has now been instructed by her doctor that she will need to reschedule this evening’s show due to respiratory infection and laryngitis."
A rescheduled date is in the works, and ticket holders have been told to hold onto their current tickets.
Gaga, who was set to play Montreal's Bell Center before calling off the show, is currently on her Joanne World Tour. She has a pair of Toronto dates at the Air Canada Center up next, on Sept. 6-7, before continuing on to Philadelphia.
Meanwhile, Gaga's Joanne World Tour is scheduled to hit Toronto's Air Canada Center on 6 and 7 September (17), before returning to the U.S. for two shows in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is also billed to perform at the Rock in Rio festival in Brazil on 15 September (17), before making her way over to Europe.
