Lauren Jauregui slams Donald Trump's latest immigration decision
Fifth Harmony member Lauren Jauregui is outraged over President Donald Trump's latest controversial immigration decision.
The star took to Twitter on Monday (04Sept17) to express her disgust over Trump's plan to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program - an initiative that has once again split America.
Jauregui, who is of Cuban heritage, also referenced his decision to pardon former Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio, the law enforcement official reportedly engaged in racial profiling and mass deportations.
“It’s incredible to me that you’ll pardon a man who is known for running his prison as a Latino concentration camp and call him a patriot, but then deport kids with a dream to be successful citizens with safe lives,” the singer wrote on Twitter. “You disgust me. You and your squad of Republican elite/cowards are truly sick humans. Pardoning criminals and criminalizing the vulnerable.”
Barack Obama launched the DACA program in 2012. It was put in place to protect undocumented immigrants brought to the as children from being sent back to their country of birth. White House officials have delayed Trump's new policy from taking effect for six months.
