Kesha loses voice after hectic performance week
Kesha has lost her voice following three consecutive performances this week (begs23May16).
The Tik Tok singer has sung live a few times this year, but she stepped up her appearances this week by performing Bob Dylan cover It Ain't Me Babe at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (22May16) followed by two nights at Dylan Fest to celebrate the veteran's 75th birthday.
The three consecutive live performances have now taken their toll
on Kesha and her voice is struggling to cope.
She posted a selfie on Instagram in which she is poking out her
tongue, and wrote in the caption, "exahusted (sic). sleep time
after no sleep for the past week. I've sang my little heart out and
now my voice is gone. LOVE those of u who've been supportive and
awesome. thank u."
Kesha appeared at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on Monday and
Tuesday nights to honour Dylan by covering his track I Shall Be
Released and she gave both performances her all.
"No better way to celebrate Bob Dylan's birthday than to scream his
poignant genius lyrics at the top of my lungs in the ultimate
church of music, the Ryman," she wrote on Tuesday night.
She has also been recording music with the band Steelism this week.
Kesha is currently unable to release her own material as she is
locked in a legal battle with producer Dr. Luke over allegations of
sexual and emotional abuse, which she filed in 2014. She is
currently trying to get out of her recording contract.
She took a break from music following the scandal but has since
performed at Coachella Music Festival and a Humane Society gala,
and released a track with DJ Zedd.
